TFB Review: Meprolight MPO-S Micro Red Dot Sight

Meprolight recently introduced two red dot sights, the MPO-S and MPO-F, both of which are open emitter sights. While I haven’t seen any official word on the “S” and “F” designations, I correlate them to “small” and “full size” (RMR footprint).  Meprolight sent me both full-featured MPO sights to test out, but today we’ll focus on the Meprolight MPO-S, which features the RMSc footprint, side loading battery, three reticles, shake-awake, and an aluminum housing.

Shield Sights Announces New Glass Edition RMSc

More news in the world of pistol optics, as Shield Sights brings a new Glass  RMSc edition to the game. In the wake of Holosun’s notable success with their 507K and 407K red dots, and hot on the heels of the release of Trijicon’s long-awaited RMRcc, Shield is updating their OG slim-frame pistol sight. Given the explosion in popularity of optics-ready slimmer-framed pistols like SIG Sauer’s P365 and P365XL, Glock’s 43X and 48 MOS versions, and the Springfield Hellcat, the market appears to be showing a clear demand both for handguns like these as well as the small optics that are designed to fit them. Most optics-ready slim-frame pistols from makers like SIG Sauer, Springfield, Walther, Canik, and Glock have adopted the standardized footprint of the Shield sight, and most other optics brands (Trijicon being a conspicuous exception) have followed suit.

This thread has general information and links while this one is written by a customer who just received their new Noblex from Optics Planet. The new release seems to be a variation of a previously designed shotgun optic that attaches to a ventilated rib.

Dueck Defense RBU Leupold Delta Point Pro Sight Base

Red dots on pistols are the bee’s knees these days, everyone is doing it. There are a few different ways to mount a red dot on your pistol. You can have your slide milled to accept one of the various pistol red dots on the market. You can turn your gun into a space gat by using a frame mounted red dot system like the 6 Second Mount from ALG Defense, this method requires a custom holster and you do lose your iron sights however. Or you can use an adapter that mounts to the rear sight dovetail with no milling needed. Or you can just use your pistol’s iron sights like people have been doing before newfangled red dots were invented.
