You probably know Blackhawk best for their holsters. Their Serpa design and dozens of other models have been in common use for duty, concealed carry, and more for many years. They also sell a variety of other gear, apparel, and accessories. Now they are partnering with case manufacturer Eylar in order to expand their brand further. A new series of Blackhawk branded hard shell cases have just been announced, so you can safely store and transport your favorite guns and gear. Read more details in the press release copied below.

Okay, so yes. This is the Gucci of Firearms Gear. I don’t know of any firearms gear more highly priced that is currently on the market. But is it worth it? The tl;dr is: Yes, with some caveats.

The NRA has come out with a pistol case they say gives the protection of a hard-shell case in soft-sided form. The case apparently utilizes their patented MAGLOCK liner to mold to the outline of your gun and magazine, should you choose to store a mag separately from your gun, creating a seal which holds the gun firmly in place. Because the gun will be held snugly within the case, shifting is prevented which also prevents the scratching and scuffing that can occur with certain types of cases. The inside of the case is also lined with felt for additional protection during storage.
