The New HUB Compatible HUXWRX Ventum 762 Flow-Through Silencer [TriggrCon 2023]
James Reeves is back at TriggrCon 2023 with HUXWRX Safety to check out their new Flow-Through suppressor, the HUB-compatible Ventum 762. Many people recognize the benefits of running a flow-through suppressor but one of the former major drawbacks of the HUXWRX suppressor environment was that you were married to their mounts. The Ventum 762 is the first HUB-compatible suppressor from HUXWRX and is compatible with other major manufacturers’ universal thread 1-3/8 x 24 mounting systems meaning you’ll be able to use the Ventum with your existing mounting system.
POTD: Swedish & U.S. Marines Light Up Their H&Ks
It’s time for another Photo Of The Day, and we can’t express enough gratitude to soldiers and photographers who capture moments like this when the shooting range is lit up by the muzzle blast from rarely seen firearms. In this case, we have the Heckler & Koch G36C in the hands of U.S. Marines and Swedish Marines at the Berga Naval Base, Sweden. And as you notice, that’s not the only H&K in these images.

OSS Introduces A Quieter and Cleaner RAD 22 Suppressor
OSS is known for its unique approach to suppressor design which mitigates blowback. The Flow-Baffles have seen a recent generational improvement and have been added to the RAD 22 rimfire suppressor to create the new and Improved RAD 22. The new RAD 22 claims to be both quieter and cleaner than its predecessor while still providing the user with a more comfortable shooting experience by directing gasses away from the shooter rather than back in their face.
[TFB GUNFEST] New RAD 9 and RAD 45 Pistol Suppressors from OSS
OSS is basically a household name when it comes to rifle suppressors. Most of you will be familiar with OSS and their unique “Flow-Through” suppressor technology that reduces gas blowback to the shooter. For years customers have been asking OSS to make a handgun suppressor and the company has responded with the new RAD 9 and RAD 45 lightweight pistol suppressors first introduced to TFB at Gun Fest 2021.

The High Standard HDM is one of the few rimfire pistols to have had a chance to play a part in both theatres and with good reason.
Muzzle Your (Bull)Pup – OSS Is Now The Official Suppressor For IWI
If you haven’t followed our recent coverage of OSS Suppressors, the Millcreek, UT based company has undergone a near-complete transformation in the past few years. What used to be a hexagonal, multi-part suppressor that would confuse even veteran NFA owners, is now a sleek, round, one piece tube available in either steel or titanium and in multiple lengths. The centerpiece on the OSS design, the forward vents/ports, however, remain, acting to help eliminate the blowback pressure in semiautomatic firearms. Instead of forcing gasses back down the barrel, increasing cyclic rates and dirtying up the action, the OSS Helix design vents gases forward. And now IWI has seen the benefits of the OSS system, making the brand their official suppressor.
[SHOT 2019] Hands on with Gear Head Works' ONE pistol in .300BLK
On my way down to link up with the good folks at OSS Suppressors, I noticed a very awesome little bolt action pistol on one of their tables: Gear Head Works much anticipated ONE pistol in .300 Blk. I gave the firearm a good looking over, and the fit and finish are excellent. Gear Head has been working hard on refining this firearm to sub-MOA specs. Everything from the side folding brace to the chassis to the bolt and trigger felt extremely polished and well made. Keep in mind this is after 5 hours of being shot and knocked around by hordes of media and buyers attending Industry Day at the Range.
The Unique Method of Cleaning OSS Helix-QD Suppressors
I know that the drill is not to clean the centerfire rifle suppressors because they run at such high pressures that the gasses following the bullet will clean the can by wiping out anything inside it everytime the gun is fired. But let’s say you need to clean it. You’ll most likely disassemble it and clean the baffles with scrapers and brushes after soaking them in a cleaning solution. That should be the way of cleaning for most of the “conventional” suppressor designs. Now what OSS Suppressors suggest as a cleaning procedure for their Helix-QD cans is quite different and very interesting.
LEAKED: USMC Test Calls M27, M38 DMR Into Question
On the heels of the USMC’s effort to field 15,000 more Heckler & Koch M27 Infantry Automatic Rifles, as well as the M38 Designated Marksman Rifle variant, The Firearm Blog has received a copy of a 2016 report intended to justify procurement of accessories and additional M27s to fill a need for a special purpose rifle (SPR). The report documents a test conducted at Quantico, Virginia, by the Product Manager, Infantry Weapons Product Management Office (PdM IW). 9 M27 IARs were tested, each firing 2700 rounds over the course of the test. Notably, the Lead Engineer and Assistant Product Manager for this test was the recently-retired Salvatore Fanelli, who worked at Heckler & Koch in the early-mid 2000s.
CSASS Program Inches Forward with Sources Sought Notice for Accessories
The US Army’s embattled CSASS program has moved forward slightly with a sources sought notice posted to the Fed Biz Opps website, seeking manufacturers who can make many of the accessories that equip the M110A1 rifle. The notice isn’t itself for a contract, but will help determine which manufacturers are able to provide a second source production capability for CSASS accessories.
