Premium optic mount and accessory manufacturer, Unity Tactical, is introducing their own magnifier and swing mount combo in 2024! While Unity Tactical is known for making top-tier mounts, this is their first foray into the optic magnifier game, so it should be exciting. And while we don’t have firm pricing and availability, Unity Tactical assures us that this magnifier/mount combo is going to be reasonably priced and available this year. Spuhr is always on the cutting edge with optics mounting and this new setup manufactured for a Dutch government contract is no exception. A brilliant, robust, but lightweight integration of the Aimpoint Micro, plus the Aimpoint magnifier in a QD/swing mount combo, plus a functional backup iron sight and extended, raised Picatinny rail for night vision sighting systems is clever and accessible, as it is also available for pre-order to the civilian market. Another solution from Spuhr that looks as good as it is functional.

The mount masters at Reptilia Corp. are at it again. They’ve given us excellent light bodies, they’ve given us RMR add-on mounts for LPVOs, they’ve given us solutions to add devices like the Wilcox RAPTAR to our scope mounts, and more. With a professional pedigree that includes prior experience at beloved companies like Magpul, Advanced Armament Corp., SilencerCo, and Crye Precision, it’s no wonder the Reptilia staff keeps cranking out the hits. Now with their latest product release, Reptilia is expanding your mount capabilities to include micro optics like the Aimpoint H- and T-series or the Comp M5, as well as the many other makes and models that use the same footprint. Nevada-based Reptilia Corp has been putting out firearms accessories like optics mounts and weaponlight mounts for over a decade, drawing on prior experience with companies like Magpul, SilencerCo, and others. Products like their dot mounts, RMR mounts, and light bodies have proven to be popular rifle add-ons. With a July 1st announcement, they have expanded to a new offering aimed at users of the Geissele 34mm Super Precision mount. The new ROF Diving Board enables shooters to add devices like laser rangefinders on top of their rifle scopes. Reptilia’s official product description is shared below.

AimShot has introduced a new line of quick release mounts that are compatible with M-LOK or KeyMod. This family of mounts includes Picatinny rails of different sizes, as well as bipod and flashlight specific mounts. There are built-in buttons on either side of these mounts squeezing which allows attaching them to or unlocking from the handguard in a matter of seconds and without a use of tools.

Flex Force Enterprises (formerly Radio Hill) is more widely known for their counter UAV handheld DroneBuster device but the company also makes machine gun mounts that are currently in use by the U.S. Government. Their ASP-Land and ASP-Maritime are gyrostabilized mounts that are designed to be used in both a manual operator role and in a remote-controlled capacity as well. Although most of the photographs of the mount itself show it with a .50 BMG M2 Heavy Machine Gun, it can be configured for any particular platform that a client wants. This is done via a mounting bracket that serves as a ‘sled’ that can have proprietary bolts affixed in it allowing practically any NATO or Soviet-bloc weapon system to be mounted to it.

The N-Vision Halo LR is the new hot thermal sight that a lot of hunters have switched to. Night Vision Outfitters posted a video on Facebook about the new N-Vision Halo Bobro mount. In the photo above, you can clearly see the factory ADM mount versus the Bobro mount.

Unity Tactical continues to innovate and brought many of their new offerings to NRA 2019. Talking to Chip, he said people often ask for a Unity version of products already made well by other companies. Instead of making more of the same, Unity’s goal is to provide new, innovative solutions that are not currently available elsewhere.

A new remotely controlled weapon system has recently emerged from Syria. The Sham R3 is the third variation of the original Sham series of remotely controlled weapons stations that use a 12.7x108mm DShK Heavy Machine Gun to engage targets from a stationary position.

Manufacturer Surefire has formally announced a new variant of their successful Warcomp combination flash hider/compensator. The new muzzle device, called the Warcomp 556 CTN, sports a closed six tine “birdcage” style flash hider configuration, versus the original Warcomp’s open three tine configuration. This change is highly reminiscent of the change from the M16’s initial production three tine flash hider to the six tine A1 “birdcage” flash hider, which led to the now familiar four tine closed bottom A2 flash hider.

While the picatinny rail is a highly versatile mounting system, it is certainly lacking in the svelte department. Where quad rails equipped with the system are affectionately known as “cheese graters” by those who have been equipped with them, you know its not the most elegant solution to mounting. On the flip side, its highly versatile, allowing for nearly anything to be equipped versus purpose-built solutions.

SIDEKICK is a GoPro camera mount, which directly mounts on Picatinny rails. It is compatible with GoPro HERO and HERO5 Session cameras. It is made of aircraft grade aluminum and is very lightweight. With the camera installed the assembly weighs only 4.3oz.

A start up company by the name of H.S.S.S (High Speed Shooting Stabilizer, and their Facebook group Mobile Marksman LLC.)  is coming out with their flagship product, the FANG. Essentially it is a polymer picatinny mounted device that allows a shooter to stabilize their rifle against a surface while in a crouching or standing position. It works well enough that a shooter can free up his non firing hand and continue to use the rifle, whether that be because of an injury or working with that hand. The founder of the company is a Marine (Infantryman and 1st Recon) and Navy ( EOD) Veteran that was looking for something he could add to a weapon system so he himself could shoot better. We blogged about the new Talon Gyro-Stabilized Weapon Mount system from  Paradigm SRP last week. It attracted skepticism from readers in the comments who questioned how effective such a system would be in the real world. Yes, it is true that it does not track targets (although the hardware is fully capable of being integrated into such a system) but nor does it need too. It is fully capable of keeping a gun pointed in the desired direction during choppy seas, through turbulent air or over bumpy ground. After seeing it in action today at Industry Day at The Range I have no doubt it works in real world applications.
