Ever since the Microtech Defense Suppressors were approved by the ATF in 2017 we at TFB have kept you updated with news. They were caught in the wild at Big Daddy Unlimited as well as on other occasions.

A while ago TFB had a look at the Limited Edition Blackwater Microtech Ultratech Out-The-Front Knife.

While attending the Big Daddy Unlimited “Epic Shoot” 2019 in Savannah, Georgia hosted at the 17 South Rod and Gun Club we stopped by Microtech to check out their ‘wares and see what was new with them! One of their most intriguing pieces they brought with was their R2K9 Modular 9mm silencer. This was out of Microtech Defense Industries, a division of Microtech, that is specializing in suppressors as a supplement to their quality knives.

About this time of the year, in 2017, TFB announced that the Microtech Suppressors had been approved by the ATF. Two years have passed and since then there has been very little news, other than a constant flow of new knives from the company.

Microtech’s small arms division, MSAR, has ceased operations. Microtech Small Arms Research, or MSAR, manufactured variants of the Steyr AUG for the US civilian market starting in 2007. They announced their closure in a March 20 letter to their customers:
