Unity Tactical’s FAST risers are one of the most popular ways to mount an optic high above a rail. Those risers exist for many popular optics like Aimpoints, EOTechs, and various LPVOs. Well, add the Primary Arms MicroPrism family to that list now, too.

Almost two years ago I reviewed Primary Arm’s SLx 1x MicroPrism. Since then they have made magnified versions. Well, they are coming out with an SLx 5x MicroPrism and I requested one for review. New for the 5X MicroPrism is their 12 o’clock red dot mount so I requested one of those as well. Let’s take a closer look at this tiny but mighty setup.

Fellow writer Nicholas C recently did a thorough review on the Primary Arms SLx 1x MicroPrism and both TFB staff and TFB readers seemed to have mixed feelings about it with most of the positive views on the 1x MicroPrism coming from those (like me) who have astigmatism and prefer etched glass over projected dots. The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) has just given their endorsement of the SLx 1x MicroPrism for duty-use giving the little prism sight a bit more clout within the firearms world from a reputable organization.

Primary Arms is known for making affordable yet durable optics that work. They have set themselves apart from the competition with their ACSS reticle. Well, now they have a new SLx 1X MicroPrism with the ACSS reticle. This new MicroPrism optic is a tiny package that works like a quality red dot. Let’s take a closer look at this interesting optic.

Primary Arms have published their 2021 catalog which includes a number of new products. In this article, we’ll take a look at the new family of compact prism scopes called SLx MicroPrism. These scopes are designed from the ground up and according to Primary Arms, have passed extensive endurance testing during the development such as withstanding 7000 rounds of .308 Win fired through a SCAR-17S. Currently, there are two sights in this product line – the non-magnified SLx 1x MicroPrism and the SLx 3x MicroPrism which has fixed 3-power magnification.
