TFB Review: Mean Arms 9mm Bearing Delay Blowback Upper Receiver
Mean Arms 9mm bearing delay upper receiver represents a significant step forward in firearms technology. Building on the lessons learned from existing roller-delayed firearms, Mean Arms developed a new tunable bearing delay system. After getting to put some rounds through this system at this year’s SHOT Show’s Industry Day at the Range I was overly curious how reliable this new system could be. With the help of both Mean Arms and Lake Martin Machine Gun, I put 1,000 rounds through this upper, and here’s what I found.
[SHOT 2023] Mean Arms Bearing Delayed 9mm Carbine
At SHOT 2023’s Industry Day at the Range, Mean Arms unveiled their new Bearing Delayed 9mm carbine. This new design uses their existing endomags in conjunction with a standard pattern AR-15 lower. A set of three ball bearings (rather than rollers) are used in order to create a more tuneable delayed blowback firearm. I had the opportunity to shoot the carbine and speak with Mean Arms about this radically new design.
Lightning Review: Mean Arms EndoMag Converts 5.56 PMAG to 9mm
Last year Mean Arms, the makers of the MA Loader, came out with a caliber conversion insert. The EndoMag converts a 5.56x45mm PMAG into 9mm. With the EndoMag you can use your standard AR lower to shoot 9mm and all you need is a 9mm upper.
[SHOT 2019] Mean Arms Pistol and Triggered AR Release
Mean Arms are the guys behind the MA Loader. It is a new style of stripper clip that allows you to load 10 rds of 5.56 into the ejection port of an AR15. This was a way to help those who build a fixed magazine AR15 in states like California. Well they have some new ideas like their Mean Arms pistol and trigger based bolt release.
Mean Arms EndoMag: 9mm Conversion for 5.56/.223 PMAGs
Mean Arms, the company known for making the AR-15/AR-10 magazine loaders, has introduced a new product called EndoMag. This is basically a 9mm conversion kit for 5.56/.223 Gen2 and Gen3 30 round Magpul PMAGs. The converted PMAGs will work with standard AR-15 lower receivers and Glock or Colt magazine compatible 9mm bolts.
TactiCALI: Mean Arms Magazine Loader for AR-10
Not long ago, MEAN LLC, introduced a California Compliant Magazine Loader for the AR-15; The 10-round bullet loading device allows California gunners to reload a fixed magazine without the need to break down the firearm. The Firearm Blog featured it last year and you can read more here – Yesterday, Mean Arms announced the release of a similar product for the AR-10, the MA10-Loader. Combining either of these loaders with the MA-Lock allows Cali folks yet another solution to the ever changing gun laws and the parameters thereof.
Mean Arms' Solutions For California Gun Laws | NRA 17
Mean Arms is the genius behind the clever workaround of fixed magazine for California compliance. In California you have two options to stay legal with your AR-15 and not register. Either have a featureless rifle which maintains the removable magazine but no pistol grip. Or you have a fixed magazine that requires tools to be removed. Well now that the Bullet Button is banned, clever people like Mean Arms have come up with ways to make a fixed mag not be so bad.
