[TriggrCon 2023] A Modernized Daewoo K5 Pistol: Lionheart Vulcan 9
In this episode of TFBTV Show Time, James Reeves is at TriggrCon 2023 with Rob Curtis to talk about the Lionheart Vulcan 9, a modernized version of the South Korean military’s pistol, the proven Daewoo K5 or DP51. The neatest part about this pistol is its “double action plus” half-cocked trigger which serves as a sort of 2-stage trigger for carrying safety and with the hammer down, but with a light 4.5 pounds trigger pull. Check out all of the features of this handgun, and make sure to subscribe to TFBTV Show Time and check the TriggrCon 2023 playlist.
POTD: Lionheart LH9N
Lionheart Industries imports K5 pistols from S&T Daewoo, The LH9 is the American version of the k5. It has similar styling to a Sig pistol but it has a Double Action + system. You rack the slide and flip the safety on. Then manually push the hammer forward. Then when you want to fire the LH9, you flip the safety off and pull the trigger. There is a light reset of the hammer then you are firing single action. Here is a video by Colion Noir explaining it.
Lionheart Industries LH9C
The Lionheart Industries “L” series of pistols were introduced earlier this year and recieved a lot of attention. To give you a background of this pistol series it helps to know who makes them. Lionheart formed a strategic alliance with S&T Motiv in order to bring these pistols to the American market. Now you’re probably asking yourself who the heck is that. Well you know them by the more common name of S&T Daewoo based in south Korea. Daewoo is an experienced company that most people know from the 1980’s when they introduced the Daewoo 5.56 carbine. Those familiar with the company know they make excellent firearms. In fact they manufacture most of the South Korean military small arms.
