It is Friday Night and it is once again time to get our photon jam on. Today we take a look at Weltool weapon lights. Specifically their W35 series of weapon lights. As we head into the new year, Surefire is now shipping several new flashlights that were announced this past fall. One of the new lights now shipping is the new Tactician flashlight.

Tactical flashlights worn on the wrist, known as wristlights by SureFire, have continued to develop since TFB first reported on them in 2013. At that time, the adornment was little more than a flashlight with a max output of 180 lumens with a steep initial price of $495. That particular light-only variant evolved significantly in both quality and consumer price – now seen on SureFire’s website for $169.

Almost anyone who spends significant time outdoors or served in the military within the last decade is keen on the various LED headlamps out on the market. Inexpensive and versatile, they quickly become indispensable tools for the camper or warfighter at night. Unfortunately, they do have the limits in their utility, where carrying objects or getting on a gun greatly reduces their lighted area.

Surefire has been slowly releasing more new products even after the excitement of SHOT Show has settled. This includes 3 new flashlights with their MaxVision beam and high output LED. All 3 new models sell anywhere from roughly $120 – $300. While these may not be entirely affordable for the general consumer, this is the price-point you would expect to see Surefire lights running at.

Weapon lights have evolved in the past 10-15 years and obviously LEDs have been a big part of the transformation. Battery life, ruggedness, size and light output are at the top of the list for advantages over their incandescent kin. LUCID Optics has just joined the illumination game with the C3: a dual LED weapon light that pushes out 300 lumens.

If you’ve ever hunkered down in a blind or against a tree at night hoping to spot incoming game before they spot you – hoping not to miss them entirely – you understand the need for a good flashlight. Not a flashlight that floods the woods or field with a bright white light that would definitely scare off all the game in the area, that is, but one that helps you see without being readily detected by wildlife.

Manta, known for their gel-like temperature resistant rail & suppressor covers is bringing its navigation light around Modern Day Marine. Soldier Systems has photos, but in short, its a low-profile fully configurable LED light that fits into a rail cover. At only 1/4″ thick and 6″ long, you get options to adjust the output.
