POTD: The New Uzi Pro
It’s time for some more UZI in TFB’s Photo Of The Day article series with some very clean Uzi Pro product photos taken by Jeremy Tremp of Offensive Marketing Group (used with permission).
[SHOT 2018] Tavor TS12 12 Gauge & Tavor 7 .308 Win from IWI
We at TFB were fortunate enough to get a preemptive sneak peek of a lot of the firearms and sweetness that is present at SHOT Show Industry Range Day. Part of that was seeing in the flesh (err, bare metal) the NEW Tavor TS12 12 Gauge and the Tavor 7 .308 win rifles from IWI.
POTD: IDF X95s
Found this photo on social media. The watermark looks to be from Zahal, an Israeli website for tactical gear and accessories. The top two X95s are just your ordinary Micro Tavors. They have 13″ barrels and come in FDE or Black. The third X95 down is the integrally suppressed 9mm. I would love to play with that version. I am curious if the suppressor is like that of a MP5SD and vents 115gr and 124gr Nato to subsonic levels? The last X95 is the most intriguing. It looks similar to the US released X95s with the longer barrel and longer handguard. However there is a subtle difference. This X95 has an FDE rail under the handguard sections. If you look at the US released X95s, like the one Tim Harmsen of MAC has, the US FDE version have black rails with FDE covers. I wonder if the FDE rails are exclusive to IDF or was it just cheaper to mold them all in black and only color mold the handguards and receivers for the US X95s?
Gun Review: IWI Tavor X95 Suppressed
Down at Big 3 East, last March, IWI USA VP Mike Kassnar, set aside fifty X95s for the writers in attendance. I eagerly jumped at the opportunity to get my hands on the X95 for review. I have only had a little trigger time behind the older Tavor SAR. I recall one of my earliest experiences was with an 18″ FDE Tavor that someone got and he put a QD Gemtech suppressor on it. It had a Mepro sight and we were hitting steel off hand at 200 yards with ease. However when it was suppressed, there was a significant amount of gas to the face. I was perplexed. The Tavor has a long stroke gas piston operation. I was under the impression that was one of the benefits of shooting a piston operated gun as there would be less gas returning into the chamber and thus less gas to the face. I was wrong. There are a few companies that make gaskets to further block the gas escaping from the factory blocked left side ejection port. Such as Manticore Arms’ Port Cover and Gear Head Works FLEx Swivel.
Gun Review: IWI X95 Goodness
Just to preface this light review, there have been tons and tons of full on, in depth reviews and video testing of the IWI X95, from Small Arms Review, Small Arms Defense Journal (same articles, one might be more accessible to readers), our own Edward O or TV Press Pass, Tim from Military Arms Channel/ The Bang Switch, and even a member of the Israeli security forces, in addition to all the videos of good footage on the internet. So in no way is this write up ground breaking but is simply my views on the rifle from recently shooting it at Bullpup 2015.
Galil ACE Release Delayed Until Late 2015, 2016
Bad news for those looking forward to the latest Israeli Kalashnikov rifle: IWI’s launch of the Galil ACE to the US market has been delayed, according to a post on the US division’s Facebook page:
