Federal Premium keeps opening the flood gates on new products for 2021 and they continue that trend with additional offerings through their Hydra-Shok Deep line of ammunition with a 380 Auto Hydra-Shok Deep 99 Grain and 38 Special +P Hydra-Shok Deep 130 Grain. This will give concealed carry advocates of tiny handguns – snubby revolvers and pocket 380s – another ammo offering to tantalize over when they are selecting their carry ammunition. Federal has just released their new Hydra-Shok Deep .380 Auto bullet design meant for .380 micro-guns and compact pistols alike. This adds a whole new dimension to the micro-handgun caliber giving users more effectiveness. Federal Ammunition claims that this .380 offering is the first to offer consistent penetration beyond the FBI recommended 12-inch minimum in bare gel and through heavy clothing.

The National Rifle Association hosted the NRA Annual Meetings less than a month ago in Indianapolis, Indiana to some door-busting crowds. With the fodder of new guns and cool, freshly-debuted products also comes the annual announcement of the NRA’s Shooting Illustrated magazine’s Golden Bullseye Awards for industry products. Federal Premium‘s Hydra-Shok Deep took home the Golden Bullseye Award for 2019 Ammunition Product of the Year and they were jubilant!

Federal Premium has expanded out their line of Hydra Shok Deep to now include .40 S&W and .45 ACP for those who rely on those cartridges for carry and protection. This bolstering of the Hydra Shok Deep line of ammunition occurred recently in the middle of February and firearm retailers are now seeing shipments of the cartridges arrive for sale to shooters.

Federal Premium recently went back to the drawing board to see if they could improve upon a time-tested standard for handgun defense loads. After extensive testing and some minor, meaningful changes they have developed the Hydra-Shok Deep defense load; an improved variant of the staple Hydra-Shok round.
