Almost a year ago,  back in March 2017, US SOCOM posted a request for information (RFI) seeking proposals for conversion kits for M4A1 Carbine receivers. SOCOM sought a kit that would turn M4A1s into Personal Defence Weapons weighing less than 6lb, measuring less than 26 inches and chambered in .300 Blackout.

Heckler & Koch, Germany, have been renaming their weapon systems. It’s been going on for a while and I’ve been trying to decipher this ever since I saw some of the new HK firearms at Enforce Tac 2017, Germany.

At Enforce Tac this spring Heckler & Koch Germany displayed the HK237 and HK337 officially for the first time, but there were no details to be had. Now we’re teased with some more technical details.

BREAKING NEWS from Nürnberg, Germany: H&K is manufacturing rifles chambered in .300 Blackout / Whisper. The doors to the Enforce Tac expo literally just opened minutes ago (at time of writing) and as we walked in we were surprised to see the new HK237 and HK337 chambered in .300 AAC Blackout / .300 Whisper. The new HK carbines are displayed together with new .300 BLK ammunition manufactured by RUAG.
