Apex Tactical makes a wide range of handgun parts and upgrades. The venerable Browning Hi-Power is one of the guns that Apex has paid attention to. They recently announced a new mag well and extended magazines for that gun.

FN discontinued the original Hi-Power in 2018 citing a lack of interest in the civilian market, but 4 years later, FN released a completely new version of the pistol, with the same styling and traditional appearance of the original, but integrating more modern features and build quality. The SA-35 handgun from Springfield Armory made waves late last year when it was officially unveiled to the public. Those who had been seeking a Hi-Power pistol were finally able to get their hands on something authentic to the original design, but with a few modernized changes. My initial experiences with the handgun did in fact give me that authentic Hi-Power feeling with its natural pointability, fit in the hand, and crisp, light single-action trigger pull. If you’re planning on carrying the SA-35 or find yourself struggling a bit to quickly pick up a sight picture, perhaps a small upgrade is in order. XS Sights recently released their XS R3D night sights for the SA-35 pistol, and today we’ll be taking a quick gander at them on the SA-35 to see what kind of benefits they offer over the standard sights Springfield currently offers.

We’ve all made fun of Turkish clones of guns. I’m certainly guilty of it. But today I’m eating a little humble pie, as EAA imports the Girsan MC P35 Match, a Hi-Power with all the modern features.

Stopping by EAA’s booth at range day, their was a whole lotta of firearms to choose from. First off, I elected to try a few magazines with the Girsan MCP35, a Browning Hi-Power clone being imported by EAA. The MCP35 can be had in quite a few different colors and finishes (including gold, if that’s your thing) as well as with a number of different grip styles.

Back in 2018 we reported that FN would be ceasing production of the iconic Browning Hi-Power. But now its back, ‘reborn’. FN America claim improvements to the pistol’s ergonomics, fire control design, accuracy and an increased magazine capacity of 17+1.

The recent burst of Hi-Power related stories just got a little weirder. Springfield Armory, whose new SA-35 has been covered here, filed a lawsuit against European American Armory Corporation, who recently announced they would be importing the Girsan MC P35 Hi-Power.

For those who might already be devoted fans of Springfield Armory on social media, you may have noticed an intentionally cryptic photograph they shared last week. This black and white image depicted a gunsmith toiling away at his workbench on some unknown firearm with the phrase: “We’re bringing it back.” This lead to a lot of speculation that Springfield might be reproducing the M1 Garand or something else equally iconic. If you were clever enough though and picked up on some clues that Springfield was laying down, you likely already identified their new firearm. A clock displayed the time 19:35 which could mean 7:35pm or the year 1935. There is also a photo of one of the greatest firearm inventors who ever lived: John Moses Browning. So, what did John Browning invent in 1935?… He invented the first double-stack, semi-auto pistol ever in the Hi-Power. So, Springfield Armory is proud to announce their Hi-Power clone, reproduction in the SA-35 9mm!

Fans of the legendary Browning Hi-Power semi-automatic pistol will be excited to know that EAA is introducing their new Girsan MC P35 9mm pistol. Based on the same design as the original John Moses Browning Hi-Power pistol, the P35 promises all the reliability, accuracy, and performance that the original did but in new production firearms. EAA will be importing these firearms from the Turkish firearms manufacturer, Girsan based in Giresun, Turkey.

Redditor, IvanTTroll is one of that community’s trailblazers when it comes to 3D printing things gun related. His latest project has been printing pistol frames for Browning Hi-Power parts kits. Ivan said that this has been one of his most favorite projects, so much so that he’s almost assembled enough of them to make a rainbow with all the different frame colors. Seeing some of the sad, lonely parts kits available on the market makes me glad that some people are able to breathe new life into them.

It appears the days of the Canadian Army’s venerable Browning Hi-Power service pistols may finally be numbered after over 60 years of service. They hope to have trialled, selected and begun fielding the new pistols by the summer of 2022. A minimum of 9,000 pistols will be initially procured with follow on procurement contracts likely.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Iranian Embassy Siege that spanned from the morning of 30th April to 5th May 1980, in London. During that event, a group of six men from an area of Iran, dubbed locally as “Arabistan,” stormed the Iranian Embassy in London to take hostages in order to negotiate the release of Arabistani prisoners held by Iran and to gain more control over their claimed territory. Eventually, the British Special Air Service (SAS) took control of the situation, in the hopes that future would-be terrorists would think twice about messing with the United Kingdom.

The latest addition to the Recover Tactical product line is the HPC grip and rail system designed for FN/Browning Hi Power pistols. This product replaces the original Hi Power grips, extends the dust cover portion of the frame, adds a 1913 Picatinny rail section as well as provides a modern grip texture.
