HK69A1 Spotted in use by Central African Republic Rebels

Although these photographs were published by at least mid-2014, the presence of an HK69A1 in the hands of any insurgent group is interesting enough to those of us at TFB. The pictures were taken by a Reuters photographer Goran Tomasevic while embedded with the then victorious rebel group Séléka, more formally known as Séléka CPSK-CPJP-UFDR. The images are viewable here, on a Ukrainian media website, which published a compilation of them in 2014. A caption attributed to the photographs on a separate website specifically mentions the location of where they were taken-

Back in 1998, Tom Clancy released his fantastic counter terrorist novel, Rainbow Six. It was a story about an international counter terrorism team where they stop several attacks which we later learn are all linked to a much more dire scheme. The popularity of the book gave birth to a whole series of video games with the first game being released on PC and then ported to MAC OS, N64, Playstation, and Gameboy Color. H&K USC Carbine Available In Limited Production

Heckler & Koch made a civilian version of their UMP sub gun called the USC Carbine back in 2000. Designed following the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994. It has a thumb hole fixed stock, 16″ non-threaded barrel, 10 round magazines, and a semiautomatic only trigger group. The USC was canceled in 2013, but the rumors are true: H&K will be bringing back the USC in limited numbers.

Marine Corps Confirms Sole Source Contract for More M27s – upto 15,000!

Marine Corps Systems Command have confirmed the signing of a five year, ‘firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract’ worth $30 million. In a USMC press release Corps officials confirmed that “the additional M27 IARs will partially replace the current M4 carbine semi-automatic rifle.”

[Big 3 East] Maxim Defense HK416

Maxim Defense has made their name known for their PDW stock and SB tactical collaboration PDW brace. At last Big 3 East they had some HK416 rifles with their PDW Stock. I did not think much about it at the time but now that Brownells is importing HK416 parts my attention has been tuned to HK416 related items. The Maxim Defense HK416 rifles are sporting some upgrades. Interestingly these upgrades are independent of the Brownells story.
