NRA Forced to Cancel Great American Outdoor Show 2021

Another one falls to the ‘Rona. 2020 has been rife with event cancellations due to the imposition of gathering restrictions over health concerns, and we all hoped it would be long done by now, but unfortunately there doesn’t yet appear to be much light at the end of the tunnel. Already this year we’ve lost the NRA Annual Meeting, TriggrCon, Enforce Tac, the NASGW Wholesaler Expo, the Knob Creek and Big Sandy machine gun shoots, numerous competition matches, and many more. Now the NRA’s 2021 Great American Outdoor Show, which was set for February 6th-14th in Pennsylvania, is also getting the axe. They announced the cancellation with the following press release.

While walking down the aisles of the Great American Outdoor Show, I have to admit I was suckered into Future Forged’s tag line “Lightest AR Grip In The World”.It drew me in and when I picked up their Vektor grip, it truly was the lightest weight grip I have ever felt.

[GAOS] Crickett Chassis And F-Class Stocks

One of the nice things about the Great American Outdoor Show is to see some vendors who did not go to SHOT Show. Keystone Sporting Arms is one such company that does not attend SHOT Show. Their Crickett rifle has been a corner stone for many young shooters learning to responsibly shoot their first rifle. For a long time, the Crickett rifle style has been stagnant. Sure they expanded by making wooden and laminate stocks. But last year they started to modernize their rifle and make it more popular. They released the Crickett Precision rifle.

[GAOS 2018] Nite Site Night Vision IR Scope Camera

At the Great American Outdoor Show I came across Nite Site. I was reminded of the prototype Skoped Vision by Phone Skope where you can record what your scope sees. This is a similar concept but instead of using a phone it is a dedicated camera system with a view screen that can see in the dark. Yes it is night vision.

BREAKING: USCCA Has Been Disinvited To NRA Annual Meeting

In a press release issued yesterday, it was revealed that the USCCA has been disinvited to NRA Annual Meeting. The press release comes less than two weeks from the show and cited no reason other than s wild guess as to the NRA‘s motives. USCCA stated in the press release that their best guess is the move was a “strategic business maneuver” because the NRA recognizes the USCCA as a frontrunner in concealed carry related matters.

[GAOS] Wise Men Co. Signet Ring

Wise Men Company works with IC13 Arms to make their Signet Rings. Somewhat like the Thyrm Swithback adds a ring to a flashlight, the Signet adds a ring to your Spyderco. The Signet Ring is a replacement for the backers of Spyderco Delica 4, Endura 4, and the Matriarch 2.

Geissele Aimpoint mount and charging handle

Soldier Systems Daily has some good coverage of two of Geissele’s new products from The Great American Outdoors Show. Both of these are apart of the companies diversifying line of “Super” products. The first one is from the same line of mounts that will support the Trijicon MRO, but this is for the T1/T2 series of Aimpoint red dot sights. It differs in shape and can only be mounted with the Aimpoint products as opposed to the Trijicon sights. It is apart of the Super Transition T1 Series and is made from 7075-T6 aluminum, and is being offered in two different heights, co-witness and 1/3 co-witness. This is to allow the use of different types of image magnifiers on the same rail system with the Aimpoint sight. I would assume that multiple colors will be offered, but it seemed like they only had a goldish tint finish at the show, something like bronze. No word on MSRP yet.

[GAO] R.A.G.E Tune-able Muzzle Brake

At the Great American Outdoor Show, in Harrisburg, PA, I came across UM Tactical. Somehow we missed this at SHOT Show. UM Tactical has a tune-able muzzle brake called R.A.G.E. (Rapid Adjustable Gas Expulsion). It retails for only $159.99. The RAGE conforms to 3Gun Nation and USPSA Multi-Gun rules so you should be able to use this in any division.
