POTD: Turning In My Issued Pistol- It May Have Been My Last
The Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS you see above was my last issued pistol, which I had to give up once I resigned after 15 years with my police department. Of my 21-year career in law enforcement, this was the fourth pistol I was issued, not including my personal Glock 22 I carried on duty for years. Of all the Glocks I’ve carried on duty, this Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS has been my favorite!
New Optic Plate & Shield for the Glock MOS or Walther PDP: Radian Guardian
James is at GunCon 2023 with Radian, perhaps one of the most innovative quality accessory manufacturers (and creator of the popular Raptor charging handle) to see their new optic plate system for the Glock MOS and Walther PDP series of pistols. The Guardian plate is unique in that it isn’t JUST a plate: It features a squared-off guard for your Trijicon RMR or Holosun EPS to protect the lens from drops, strikes, and damage. Additionally, Radian will offer a combo that will feature front and rear iron sights set up to work as backup options should your dot go down.
CBP Seeks Electronic Aiming Device for New Service Handguns
A recent RFI (Request for Information) has been put out by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The request is seeking out information from the firearms industry for a “Service handgun Electronic Aiming Device.” Recently The DHS CBP has put into service two new handguns able to host an RDS, the Glock G47 and G19, both with the MOS (Modular Optic System) cut.
POTD: Weapons Armament Research RMR Guard Prototype
Depicted in today’s POTD is the prototype of a Trijicon RMR red dot sight guard that is being developed by Weapons Armament Research. This little device basically combines an RMR mounting plate and a front frame designed to protect the lens from damage.
POTD: No More Distortion Or Tint Issues, Broken Vortex Viper
Dustin W. posted this photo of his Glock 19 MOS with Vortex Viper mini red dot. To his surprise it only lasted one box of 9mm. See the piece of glass sitting below the trigger guard? That is the glass from the Viper.
Shield Sights RMS Can Co-Witness Glock MOS | SHOT 2017
Most pistol red dots that mount to the Glock MOS line do not co-witness the factory irons. In fact I do not know of any red dot that can co-witness with the Glock sights without upgrading to tall suppressor sight. That is, until now.
