Most of TFB’s readers won’t believe this, but FN Herstal has just announced that their new ultralight machine gun FN EVOLYS has been given a few modifications based on feedback. It’s as if the feedback commonly read in TFB’s comments section in EVOLYS articles had been incorporated into the new product. Simtek has just announced the release of the second generation of their security sensor which compared to the Gen 1 features an upgraded antenna, 4G cellular modem, temperature and humidity monitoring, and an accelerometer that detects bumps and movement. TFB Review: Mesa Tactical Gen II LEO Stock Kit for Remington 870 Shotguns
Mesa Tactical, that California expat company now located in Reno, Is known for law enforcement- and home defense-ready upgrades for long guns. My first experience with their gear was installing their Sureshell shell carrier/rail combo on my Remington 870 Tactical shotgun. Installation was laborious, but it’s held up well and has been so handy in terms of keeping shells at hand for speedy reloads as well as offering plenty of Pic rail for the various sighting components I’ve tried over time. It was with enthusiasm that I accepted Mesa Tactical’s offer to test the Gen II version of their LEO Stock Kit.

Standard Manufacturing S333 Thunderstruck Gen 2
This weird little gadget is probably one of the most unique and controversial guns released within the past couple of years. In a nutshell, the S333 Thunderstruck is an 8-round double-barreled revolver chambered in .22 WMR that fires two rounds every time the trigger is pulled. I guess we can say that it’s an 8-round but 4-shot revolver. Recently, Standard Manufacturing came up with the second generation of this blaster.
TBAC Announces New Gen 2 Ultra Series Suppressors
The Thunder Beast Arms Corporation, or TBAC for short, has put out some solid suppressors in their thirteen-year history. This Cheyenne, Wyoming-based operation was founded in 2007 with a simple and passion-driven mission: “…to make the best sound suppressor for precision and long-range shooting.” The following year saw the release of their 30P suppressor, followed by a 2009 update in the then-flagship 30P-1 titanium can. Over the years as TBAC continued to progress and innovate, the 30P-1 gave rise to their Ultra series, and in January of 2015 the 9-inch Thunder Beast can was retired and replaced by the Ultra 9.
TFB REVIEW: 2A Armament Balios Lite Gen 2
When it comes to direct impingement 5.56mm AR15 rifles, it takes something fairly special to stand out in today’s crowd. The current market is saturated with black rifles from giant manufacturers all the way down to the smallest custom boutique shops. Triggers, rail systems, and precision machining tops the list of what most knowledgeable consumers focus on when buying a modern sporting rifle. And more advanced shooters will opt to build their own guns with custom criteria that fits their needs. But one specification is often over looked (or ignored) – weight. The wizards at 2A Armament have refined the second generation of their Balios Lite AR15. A rifle so impressively light that it has to be held to be truly appreciated.
POTD: Yin Yang – GLOCK Gen2 And Gen5
Ok, do not hold this against me, but the first defensive pistol I owned was a Smith & Wesson Sigma chambered in .40S&W. What can I say, I was young, vulnerable and wandering around a gun show. The kicker was that next to the Sigma, the seller had a table full of Gen2 Glocks. Two decades later and the Sigma is long gone and I am left begging for Gen2 pictures. Luckily, Chris from Hansohn Brothers had just picked up a brand new Gen 5 G19 to replace his well worn Gen2.
