The German Short Range Sniper Rifle (G26) tender was cancelled and rescheduled a few months ago, but that hasn’t stopped the Federal Office responsible for the Bundeswehr equipment procurement ( BAAINBw) to place an order with the riflescope specialist Schmidt & Bender. The order was placed on December 28, 2020, and there were two companies fighting for the order.

Recently TFB reported about the G26 7.62×51 mm “Short Range Sniper Rifle” that the German Army is looking for.

After long decades of mainly using pistols locally made by Forjas Taurus, Brazilian LE agencies have been turning their attention to products from overseas manufacturers, mainly in the wake of multiple reports of technical/safety issues with the “bull brand” weapons. It should be recalled that IMBEL – Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil has been a longtime supplier of pistols for the armed forces and  some police forces, but, somehow, their single-action M1911-based guns are not so popular in the local LE scenario, although some models have been adopted by local agencies.

Ringing in the New Year in true polymer style, three new GLOCKs have just been officially announced with U.S. consumer availability starting on January 22 – the first day of the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The highlight of the release is the 19X – GLOCK’s version of the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System (MHS) submission featuring a G19 length slide on a G17 sized frame, all dressed up in field dark earth (FDE).

We are coming up on the two-year anniversary of the Glock 43 debut and I have yet to buy one. Why? Because I may be the only Glock fan that just doesn’t see the point – I’ll stick with my G26/G17 #thankyouverymuch. Unless I’m missing some intangible characteristic, the numbers just aren’t adding up.

Magpul…. you tease. Released on their website without much of an ado are details on the upcoming sub-compact magazine for 9mm Glock handguns. Dubbed the PMAG12 GL 9, the magazine is ready-made for the Glock 26 handgun, adding an additional two rounds of capacity.
