TFB’s Photo Of The Day tries to push the excellent work done by so many photographers around the World and in the firearms industry. It’s a celebration to those who go in harm’s way trying to catch those special moments for us, but also those who stay in the studio working out the perfect lighting and setting hour after hour. Armed with skills, cameras and sometimes a fair bit of editing here is where their hard work ends up. The production of today’s pictures is from Slovenia and involves a lot of fresh air and very little inside studio work.

The FN F2000 is the standard issue rifle for the Slovenian Armed Forces. In case you think you see it rarely it’s because FN Herstal has stopped the production. It was probably released a few hundred years too early, don’t you think?

The FN F2000 made its debut in 2001. Designed by FN Herstal in Belgium, it is a bullpup rifle chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad al-Quds Brigades in Gaza has acquired a number of FN FN2000 rifles complete with grenade launchers. Given the relatively few potential sources of these rifles, the most obvious explination is that former Libyan rebels are exporting the weapons they captured during the civil war.
