Australia-Based iAiming Announces North American Expansion
Australian-based iAiming was founded in 2020, and currently offers three models of thermal optics products marketed primarily to hunters. These are named the iA-317, the iA-617 and the iA-612. Each model is Picatinny rail-mounted and features White Hot, Black Hot, Ironbow, Glowbow, Sepia, Red Hot, and Green Hot palette options. Their website describes these products as “game-changers” which use artificial intelligence and “First Shot Auto-Zeroing” technology. Now the company is expanding from down under to the North American market, with the following announcement of their new offices in Texas.
Wilson Combat Announces Expansion of Facilities and Production
Wilson Combat‘s history in the firearms industry stretches back nearly half a century. From his background as a trained watchmaker, company founder Bill Wilson made the jump into guns in 1974 with a retail store, then shifted to manufacturing three years later. From the late 1970s to today, the brand’s principal domain has been in high-end 1911 handguns. However, that isn’t all they do. They have also dabbled in other handgun models as well as some shotgun work, and particularly in recent years, they’ve concentrated ever more heavily in AR offerings. TFB has reported on Wilson’s various products quite a bit over the years, and a sampling of those past articles is listed for you below.
SIG SAUER Academy to Add New $13.5 Million "Showpiece" Building
SIG SAUER has been doing a lot of big things recently, and their momentum doesn’t appear to be slowing. Their Custom Works division looks to be singing along nicely, with new offerings like the Nightmare and Equinox series’ recent releases along with the all-metal P320 AXG Scorpion, hot on the heels of the P320 FCU Collective program announced earlier this year. SIG has also won another new major defense contract for one of their optics, termed the Direct View Optic (DVO), which is intended to replace the aging ACOG currently employed by many US Soldiers and Marines on their M4s. These successes should make it no surprise that SIG has also recently announced an expansion, with growth requiring new facilities in Rochester, New Hampshire.
SOLGW Announces Distribution Expansion with Crow Shooting Supply
Sons of Liberty Gun Works is better known in the firearms community as SOLGW, for short. Since establishing operations in San Antonio, Texas in 2014, they have quickly grown to become a highly sought-after and well-regarded source of AR-15 components and complete firearms. Bearing the self-assigned descriptor, “A superior manufacture of high quality, hard-use, direct impingement freedom tools,” SOLGW offers a wide range of ARs. You can opt for a basic “Legacy” M4-style 16″ version at a $949 MSRP, to a Sage Dynamics 12.5″ special edition for $1400, to an upgraded “Super Loaded Pro Rifle Package” for $2549 that even includes an optic and weaponlight – and many more models.
Kimber Shifts HQ to Alabama Facility, Adds New Staff
If you’re a firearms enthusiast, you’re almost certainly familiar with the venerable 1911. And if you’re a 1911 fan, you have no doubt at least heard of Kimber. Though they are certainly not the only 1911-centric shop in the game, they are easily one of the most well-known. And while 1911s tend to be their flagship, Kimber is actually involved in numerous other areas of the market with a plethora of other models and designs in their catalogue – including some striker-fired and revolver options. It may surprise some readers to learn that they were actually “founded with the sole purpose of building the finest classic sporting rifles ever offered in America,” as stated on their website, and only got into the 1911 game later.
