KE Arms makes more than just lowers and uppers, they also make virtually every other AR part you could imagine replacing including their very own line of aftermarket drop-in style triggers. Their new RTS-2 Rekluse trigger is the latest evolution of KE Arms’ triggers including their Sear Link Technology triggers. This new version includes an improved design to include a full mil-spec power hammer spring, and a more sealed design to protect against debris.

I was recently given a drop-in trigger and asked to take a look and see if I had any thoughts. That is where the RMT Nomad and I met. The interesting thing about this trigger is the trigger shoe pivots. It both rotates and swings side to side slightly. RMT calls this “Pivot Technology”. The pivot will allow perfect indexing consistently through different shooting positions. This is new and very different. Clearly a product I want to play with and put through some testing. Blackout Defense has their roots in aerospace and defense manufacturing. Prior to entering the small arms space, the machines in this Arizona-based shop produced parts for customers like Boeing and Raytheon, on projects like Apache helicopters and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. While they still maintain some of these business lines, today Blackout’s focus has turned toward the firearms industry. Their 20,000 square foot factory churns out AR-15 receivers, barrels, BCGs, and more, with an eye toward quality and strict tolerances. I’ve spent the last few months getting to know one of these AR components: the Zero Trigger.

Triggers for AR15 rifles: a simple yet so complex subject with as many opinions as there are people. Luth-AR now has a new single-stage drop-in trigger which is said to give a crisp, clean trigger break at around 3.5 lb. The drop-in functionality is something I really appreciate when building a rifle, as it saves me a lot of time and frustration. So far, I had no complaints or difference in feel between a drop-in trigger or one I installed all the parts in manually. The price for their new Modular Trigger Assembly is $149.95, which seems very competitive.

AR-15 triggers have been one of Jard Inc.’s specialties, but they’ve claimed a first in the firearms industry by creating a Set Trigger for AR-15 rifles and pistols. For those not familiar with the concept or the term, a set trigger can be fired in two ways; using a more standard weight of trigger pull; or by “setting” the trigger forward, which takes considerably less weight off the trigger pull. Jard was kind enough to send an AR-15 Set Trigger to TFB to review. Let’s dig in.

Many of you will know Midwest Industries from their very popular rifle accessories like handguards, M-LOK accessories, AR-15 and AK pattern rifle replacement parts. Recently they announced a new addition to their line up – the Midwest Industries Drop-In Trigger, the MI-TRIGGER-C. Full details about the MI-TRIGGER-C can be found in the press release below.

Timnney Triggers is offering 10 lucky people the chance to become beta testers for its latest offering. Timney Triggers is offering up a replacement trigger for Heckler & Koch and PTR HK91-type rifle platforms. The HK91 Replacement Trigger looks to be a drop-in style trigger as with many of Timney’s triggers so installation should be easy and function should be on the same level after beta testing.

Just in time for a SHOT Show 2020 premiere HIgh PERformance FIREarms LLC (Hiperfire) release a new line of triggers. The new line is called PHANTOM and is planned to be available in March of this year.

FosTecH Inc. has created the Echo Sport trigger, their second pull and release trigger system for AR-15 rifles. The Echo Sport is different from Fostech’s first version in that there’s an added paddle switch to change firing modes from binary to standard semi-automatic firing instead of using the safety selector like the Echo AR-II.

JP Enterprises debuted their new drop-in modular trigger and ambi safety packaging at SHOT Show 2018 this year. Originally introduced in 2004, the JPFC-M is back, newly redesigned to not just replicate but innovate.

Rainier Arms has just announced a new single-stage trigger for the AR platform from James Madison Tactical in Richland, Washington. JMT has designed the Saber to be a sleek but functional drop in trigger with a 3.5-4.0 pound trigger pull weight.

In another instance of the firearms industry feeding on it’s own, it appears that Mossberg is exercising it’s control on the original Chip McCormick patent (US 7,293,385 B2), that it acquired a while ago, and bringing lawsuits against a number of manufacturers of drop in triggers.

Velocity Triggers is a new company founded by Tom Vehr, who has more than three decades of experience designing and producing triggers. Vehr has an impressive resume including fourteen years of experience with Timney Triggers where he ran various aspects of production ranging from design to tooling to testing. In addition to working with Timney, Vehr also worked at Knight Rifles and founded Vehr Manufacturing, which is the parent company to Velocity Triggers.
