More S&W, Ruger Wheelgun Enhancement Parts From DL Sports
Dave Lauck, of DL Sports has been cranking out some new modifications for revolvers lately, some of which we’ve covered here at TFB. His latest projects include a newly contoured Enhanced Cylinder Release for Smith & Wesson wheelguns, as well as new Hard Use Sights for Ruger Redhawk and GP100 revolvers. The new Enhanced Cylinder Release is for use on S&W K, L, N, and X frame revolvers.
Wheelgun Wednesday: D&L Sports' Revolver Red Dot Mounts
This week on TFB’s Wheelgun Wednesday, we’ll take a look at another D&L Sports upgrade, Revolver Red Dot Mounts. If you’ve been tracking my recent Wheelgun Wednesday content, you would probably think I’m completely geeking out on the revolver red dot concept, but I think it’s just a natural trend that I happen to be reporting on. Semi-auto pistols and rifles have sported red dot sights for some time, and it’s finally becoming more commonplace to see red dot sights atop wheelguns. Let’s take a look at Dave Lauck’s solution for revolver red dot mounts.
Heavy Duty Sights For Colt Python & Anaconda Revolvers From D&L Sports
Dave Lauck of D&L Sports is now offering heavy duty sights for Colt Python and Anaconda revolvers, much like what he’s already provided for Smith & Wesson revolvers that we covered earlier on TFB. The new Colt revolver heavy duty sights are fixed, and feature a U notch in the rear sight. The heavy duty sights from D&L Sports can also be custom ordered to include tritium inserts.
D&L Sports' New PRG Revolver Grips For S&W K, L, N Frames
Dave Lauck of D&L Sports recently announced a collaboration with Hogue Inc. in which they designed the PRG Revolver Grips, or Performance Revolver Grips for round butt Smith & Wesson revolvers. No doubt, you’ve already noticed the pronounced features of the PRG revolver grips with the scarcely seen beavertail covering the backstrap, which is there to aid in controlling recoil, as well as to help aid the shooter with naturally pointing the PRG-equipped revolvers. The contoured hand stop is also designed to assist in recoil management, and the butt also conceals a lanyard anchor. Mr. Lauck describes his D&L Sports G10, PRG Revolver Grips below.
D&L Sports 1911 Stand-Off Device
Stand-off devices for handguns are frame-mounted parts that form a shield in front of the muzzle to prevent the action from going out of battery when the muzzle of the gun is pressed against the target. There are multiple different stand-off devices for the most popular modern handguns, however, if you want to retrofit your 1911 with such a gadget, there are not too many options. Well, D&L Sports is one manufacturer that makes a dedicated 1911 stand-off device.
MR-30 Precision Rifles Custom Built From D&L Sports
The long range precision market has exploded in the past decade, but Dave Lauck of D&L Sports has been building and improving his MR-30 Precision Rifle over the past four decades. The MR-30 is built in-house, and is made in different configurations and calibers according to the end-user’s needs. Dave explained that they’ve chambered guns from 6mm to .338 Lapua, in traditional, long range profiles (designated “MR-30 PG, or Professional Grade”), down to compact and lightweight models for urban deployment, as well as quick handling versions. D&L Sports has also taken their own approach with the added details of a compass and level integrated into the butt stock.
