In this episode of TFBTV‘s “lost” chapter of #GunFest2021 coverage, James Reeves speaks with Matt Hurt of Daniel Defense to get an exclusive look at the new DD5 308 SBR AR-10. This rifle has a number of proprietary features that should set it apart from its competition. Matt and James go over the specs on today’s episode of TFBTV.

Daniel Defense has introduced two new AR-10 pattern rifles that are the hunting iterations of their DD5 series of rifles. The new rifles are called DD5 V4 Hunter and DD5 V5 Hunter. The main differences of DD5 Hunter rifles from the standard DD5s are the Kryptek Highlander camouflage and Geissele Super Semi-Automatic (SSA) two-stage trigger.

Daniel Defense announced the next three new additions to their existing DD5 line today.  Each model accepts standard Magpul SR25/M110 pattern magazines, and some are available in multiple chamberings. These include 308 Winchester, 260 Remington, and 6.5 Creedmoor.  Below are some of the new and existing features of the lineup.   

Along with the Nightforce products, Daniel Defense was present at Nightforce 2016 with a number of rifle developments and news. Due to unprecedented demand and growth, Daniel Defense will be expanding their current production building in Savanah, Georgia from 130,000 sq ft, to a 250,000 sq ft building next June. The most recent item on the companies product list is the DD magazine, a 32 round (on closed bolt), blend of Carbon fiber and polymer. On the bottom of the magazine there is a neat Ranger plate/tab that aids in grip as well as impact absorbing, very similar to Magpul’s original entry product. They came in a pack of 12 to dealers, and sell for around $20.
