Dark Storm Industries DS-25 Typhoon Lightweight .308 Win Rifles
Dark Storm Industries (DSI) has introduced a new family of rifles called DS-25 Typhoon that has been in development for six years. Although these rifles are chambered in .308 Winchester, they are not quite AR-10 pattern guns but rather a hybrid of the AR-10 and AR-15 utilizing as many AR-15 parts as possible to decrease the overall weight. The result is a .308 rifle that weighs 6 lbs 11 oz in the configuration with a 16″ barrel.

My super hot girlfriend hails from Western New York. (I refuse to say “Upstate New York”) Every time we visit I am reminded that Andrew Cuomo and the “Safe Act” have restricted the gun rights of the citizens of New York State. Rifles with “evil features” such as flash hiders, pistol grips and “high capacity magazines” cannot be purchased, however if you want to get an Ar-15 style rifle there are still options.
DSI's New DS-15 Rifles
DSI – Dark Storm Industries – is fairly new in the gun world, having been founded in 2013. Friends and firearm enthusiasts Peter and Ed started DSI out of irritation at the lack of locally-available AR parts, and they’re already getting a reputation – a good one. On their website they sell a variety of rifles, parts, optics, rails – and more – and they’ve got half a dozen gun stores carrying their products in the New York area.
