Wheelgun Wednesday: C&Rsenal's Revolver 101 Video On How Revolvers Work
Revolvers are sometimes revered as being really simple self-defense tools compared to semi-automatic pistols, although, if you’ve ever seen the inside of one, you’d quickly notice that the operation is far from simple. I’ve enjoyed all sorts of wheelguns for decades now, but I was usually overwhelmed by trying to learn all of the internal components that make revolvers tick. Othais at the C&Rsenal YouTube channel has come to rescue me and those that have felt that same desire to know more, yet didn’t have a good 101 source, namely, Revolver 101, to lay it down in simple terms. Othais was generous in giving TFB permission to embed the video and to use some screenshots from it for TFB’s Wheelgun Wednesday.
Project Lightening: C&Rsenal & Forgotten Weapons' WW1 Light Machine Gun Extravaganza
If you love history and old firearms there are a few YouTube channels you probably follow. For many, two of those will definitely be Forgotten Weapons and C&Rsenal. Ian, Othais and Mae have come together to put seven original World War One vintage light machine guns and automatic rifles through their paces to see how they might have performed 100 years ago.
YouTube Rule Changes Cause Content Creators to Migrate to PornHub
It has been a busy couple of days for the guys at InRange TV. Their decision to open an account on the porn site PornHub has seen them go not just viral but global. The decision to set up an account on the NSFW equivalent of YouTube has garnered attention from news agencies across the US and around the world. It has also left news sites from New York to London scrambling to create ‘safe for work’ article header images.
Up To 10 YouTube Channels to Collaborate on Making a Week by Week WW2 Documentary
Indy Neidell, the host of “ The Great War” YouTube channel, has announced about his plans to start a new project similar to The Great War but telling about the WW2 in the same week by week fashion. This time they are planning to make it a much larger project covering a wide variety of topics. This new project is called TimeGhost and it will be a collaboration of up to 10 famous YouTube channels.
C&Rsenal Tackle The Mythical Pedersen Device
Episode 65 of C&Rsenal’s landmark rundown of the weapons of the Great War covers something very, very special – the Pedersen Device.
Air Service 1903 Springfield: C&Rsenal vs. Forgotten Weapons
If you’re not following both C&Rsenal and Forgotten Weapons you are missing out on some of the best gun history videos around. With C&Rsenal’s current World War One focus, systematically working their way through the weapons of the Great War, and Ian’s impressively prolific output the two occasionally cover the same subjects.
C&Rsenal Creates 2nd Excellent WWI Firearms Poster, Hits Crowdfunding Goal
Every year, the historical firearms reviewing wizards at C&Rsenal create a high quality educational firearms poster. [Note: This fund-raiser expires on Wednesday, December 6th 2017]. This is the 4th-such poster produced by C&Rsenal, two having been done for the WWII era, and now two for the WWI era. If you ask me, they keep getting better.
Shooting WW1 German Grenades in the Air with a Trench Shotgun: Myth or Truth?
Two popular YouTube gun channels TAOFLEDERMAUS and C&Rsenal teamed up to prove or bust a myth! There is a popular belief that the trench shotguns issued to US troops during the WW1 were not only used for their main purpose of providing a huge firepower when fighting inside the trenches but also were used to shoot down the incoming German “ Stielhandgranate” hand grenades (a.k.a. the potato masher grenades).
C&Rsenal (Finally) Tackles a Uniquely American WW1 Firearm – The Remington Model 10 Trenchgun
While the US education system tends to highlight and overemphasize the effect of the United States in World War 1, C&Rsenal has not. For the first 50+ episodes, the channel has been covering the various primarily european weapons from The Great War (though there has been some US history sprinkled in). Finally through the glut of .32 ACP sidearms in the plethora of forms, Othias, Mae, and crew tackle perhaps the most feared weapon of the war – the Trenchgun.
C&Rsenal & The Great War Bring us British Weapons of World War 1
Burgeoning channels The Great War and C&Rsenal continue to expand their partnership on coverage of the First World War in ever more interesting ways. While C&Rsenal focuses on individual weapons in their deep-dive “Primers”, The Great War continues to put their use into an extremely large picture perspective. Fortunately for us, we do not have to parts the micro and macro by watching both and the two channels partner on live streaming episodes that give a broader view with details of weapons from individual countries in World War One.
C&Rsenal Continues Excellent Primer Series with the Venerable SMLE
C&Rsenal, an utterly fantastic resource for the historically inept at firearms history, has released their latest Primer episode. The Primers are in-depth looks at the firearm including their history (often the result of a combination of conflict, technology, and politics) and their ultimate design, including excellent transparent models.
The WWI Long Enfield Small Arms Primer You Need to Watch
Ok, the title is just a hair “click-baity”, but the quality of the information and work put into by C&Rsenal is well worth one’s time. Over the last two years, Othias and Mae have been working to catalog the absolute plethora of weapons used in The Great War (in fact, also partnering another fantastic channel, The Great War for period-specific content).
C&R Arsenal Plays with The M9's Great Great Great… Granddaddy
There must be something Italian in the waters. Berettas seem to be popping up all over the place, this time the progenitors of the US M9 Service Pistol. C&Rsenal (a clever name for a Curio & Relic YouTube channel) has their hands on two rare service pistols from a century prior to today, the Beretta Models 1915 and 1917.
C&Rsenal X-Ray View of Innovative FN 1900
While the 1911, Glock, and other handguns are well-recognized, handguns that truly pushed forward technology can often be overlooked. While yes, the 1911 featured a different Browning design that exists to this day, few recognize the impact of the Fabrique Nationale Model 1900.
The German Jager Pistol: Genius Design, PITA Assembly
One of these days, when I have enough money, I’m going to start investing in old firearms (but the new ones are just so darn cool, too…). Tempting us poor commoners again is Ian at Forgotten Weapons, this time with a German compact handgun commonly known as the “Jager” pistol.
