Gun cleaning kits seem to be offered in a wide variety of packages, but few offer actual differences that distinguish between them. Occasionally, someone comes up with a new tool that offers an advantage – or at least a different way – to get your guns clean. The bore snake type tools are a good example of this.

Last year about this time, we posted about the Ms Clean, a polymer AR magazine shaped container for holding components of a cleaning kit.  Well, Peter Palma is back on Kickstarter looking for support for the next iteration of the case.  One that is double the width (sized to fit in a double mag pouch).

Iosso has been in the business of manufacturing cleaning products for a quarter of a century, and although they got their start making products for boats and RVs they also make cleaning supplies and oils for firearms. They have a selection of bore brushes, bore cleaner, and their own bio-based oil solution, but it was their new AR cleaning kit that caught my eye at SHOT Show.

A few weeks back I posted a small review of a cleaning kit I found at my local Cabela’s store.  That story can be found here.

The other afternoon I was walking though my local Cabela’s and stumbled upon their caliber specific, competition cleaning kits.  They have everything you need, sans oil and solvent, to clean your firearm. I picked up two of them, one in .40 for my handguns and one specific to the 556/223 AR platform.  They come in a nice case, with slots for each tool and even have a rubberized back to the case to keep it from sliding away.  I was intrigued because I was tired of my current cleaning kit that had tools for every caliber under the sun, and I don’t use 90% of the kit.  I like simplicity, and not having a bunch of things lying around that I have no use for.

Otis Technology announced a new cleaning kit that they state is “geared toward female hunters and shooters.”  The Tactical Pink is an all-in-one cleaning kit in a soft-sided case that uses the company’s Breech-to-Muzzle cleaning components.  The case has loops for attaching to a belt.
