GCA and CMP Announce Master Marksman Program Update

It has been one year since the GCA and CMP collaboratively launched the “Master Marksman Program.” This initiative encourages GCA members to participate in CMP competitions and acknowledges those who consistently achieve high scores using As-Given M1 Rifles at specific Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) events. Similar to the CMP’s existing Distinguished Badge Program, the new Master Marksman  Program operates on an Achievement Award points system, which is calculated based on competitor’s performances at designated CMP events.

Master Your AUG – Talladega CMP to Host Steyr Academy Courses

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has announced it will be hosting several Steyr Academy courses this April at the Talladega Marksmanship Park. Steyr Academy, a division under their production wing, provides comprehensive firearm training led by Brian Marshall, a seasoned expert with 28 years in local and federal law enforcement and two decades as an instructor. In April, two Steyr courses will take place at Talladega, utilizing covered firing points at distances of 100, 200, 300, and 600 yards, employing CMP’s electronic target lines. Additionally, participants will engage in firing exercises on Talladega’s unknown distance range.
