Kinetic Research Group BRAVO Chassis
Kinetic Research Group (KRG) has introduced a new rifle chassis called Bravo. It is designed for Remington 700 short and long action rifles and Tikka T3 short actions. It is made of high-strength polymer with a full-length (from the end of the action to the tip of the forearm) aluminum backbone to make it a much more rigid platform.
New Model 700 Short Action Chassis from Best Damn Gun
The Best Damn Gun company announced that it was now offering a new chassis for the Remington Model 700 action. The new chassis is designed for the short action and follows on the heels of the long action version that was introduced at the 2017 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
ORSIS Mosin: New Mosin-Nagant Chasis
During the Belarusian MILEX 2017 expo, Russian ORSIS introduced a Mosin-Nagant rifle chassis called “ORSIS Mosin”. The chassis features a folding and adjustable stock as well as short quad Picatinny rail section in the front portion of the forearm. There is also some sort of a side mount for the scope.
Ukrainian "Crook" Chassis for Mosin-Nagant Rifles
Ukrainian company called “Crook” (Крук – means “raven”) makes an aluminum chassis for Mosin-Nagant rifles. It fits all models of Mosin-Nagant rifles including the early ones with hexagonal receivers and doesn’t require any modifications to the rifle. Basically, you just remove the Mosin-Nagant wood stock and drop the action into this chassis.
MasterPiece Arms Enhanced Vertical Grip
MasterPiece Arms has designed a new precision shooting grip for their BA rifle chassis. The new grip is called EVG which stands for Enhanced Vertical Grip. As the name implies, the grip is vertical in relation to the bore axis. It also features a large palm swell and extended rests for the trigger finger and for your thumb.
MasterPiece Arms CZ-455 Precision Chassis
As a new owner of a CZ 455 bolt action rimfire rifle that I bought it specifically as a short range precision gun, I am ecstatic to see MasterPiece Arms come up with a dedicated chassis offering. Outfitted with the same features as it’s similar centerfire cousins, The MPA BA appears to be solid and well made with features normally found on the big boys. I especially like the integral bubble level and swappable AR-patterned grips.
New: Aluminum Chassis for Swiss K31 Rifles by Sureshot Armament Group
Czech company Sureshot Armament Group has introduced a new chassis for Swiss K31 rifles. It is a one piece construction, CNC machined from a solid 7075 aluminum block. The chassis allows free floating the K31 action. It is also extremely lightweight weighing little over 2 lbs 12 oz (1268 grams). Interestingly, it is even lighter than the original K31 wooden stock.
Tikka's T3x TAC A1 at Industry Day at the Range, Shipping Now | SHOT 17
At the 2017 SHOT Show, Sako/Tikka was showing off their products, especially their newest entry into the T3 family: The T3x TAC A1, a dedicated from-the-factory precision rifle offering built from off a T3x base rifle. The TAC A1 is, unlike the rest of the T3 family, bedded into an aluminum chassis, not a polymer or wood stock. The chassis adds stability to the rifle, but also sports a number of additional “tactical” features that help transform the T3x from a sportsman’s rifle to a tactical/precision weapon.
Bullpup Chassis System for Remington Receivers
Anarchy Outdoors announced the company will be the exclusive seller of the new R/BTP (Remington Bullpup Tactical Precision) chassis system developed by Tactical Precision Manufacturing.
3D Printed SKS Chassis from Pearce Armoury
The SKS is seeing a lot of love in Canada lately, as another chassis system rears its head. The Pearce Armoury ILS chassis is 3D printed, and creates a pseudo-AR lower for the SKS. The means AR-15 stocks, pistol grips, magazines, trigger assembly, and bolt release.
New Scorpio SKS-15 Arrives in Canada
Cheap SKS rifles have always been a thing in Canada. Black Friday saw Cabela’s Canada selling them for $140 USD. With that so far endless seeming supply of rifles, we see more and more people putting time and money into making sharper, better, enhanced versions. New this year will be the SKS-15, a standalone rifle created by merging a modified SKS with a domestically manufactured chassis.
22Plinkster Takes On a Tacti-Cool 22 – The Aklys ZK-22 Bullpup Chassis
The ZK-22 bullpup chassis has a storied history. Originally developed at Red Jacket Firearms and featured prominently on one of their TV episodes, the ZK-22 started with the now ill-fated company with a slow release. With major controversy over the arrest of Will Hayden for some serious sexual crimes, Joe Meaux ported the product over to his new start-up, Aklys Defense.
Matador Arms SKS Sabertooth Chassis
I recently had a brief range day with Matador Arms and put some rounds through their SKS and Sabertooth Chassis combo. Matador is a Canadian company, and produces a variety of accessories for the domestic market.
The Sabertooth is arguably their flagship product, a machined aluminum chassis for the SKS that adds AR-15 stock & grip compatability, a slim picatinny quad rail, and a magazine well for duck-billed magazines. The idea is that no permanent modifications to the rifle are necessary, and that the entire thing can be reverted back to “pure” without any gunsmithing.
[SHOT 2016] Kinetic Research Group
I stopped by Kinetic Research Group’s boot today to see what was new with their chassis systems. New for 2016 is the Whiskey-3 Gen 5, and X-Ray Gen 2. The Whiskey-3 now features a polymer fore-end with M-Lok slots and a built-in barrier stop, and is a 1/2lb lighter than the previous iteration. The cheekpiece on all the chassis now has increased fore and aft travel, and the buttpad on the Whiskey-3 and X-Ray now has tool-less adjustment via a wheel. The Whiskey-3’s buttstock is adjustable for height and 15 degrees of cant in either direction. The triggerguard on the Whiskey-3 is now made of polymer rather than aluminum.
