SHOT Show is an event where manufacturers show off their latest goods, but to Californians many of them are off limits. Standard capacity magazines, drum mags, sub guns, scary black rifles with pistol grips, pistols not on some approved roster, etc. The gun laws suck in the golden state, but California is still a very large market for the firearms industry and every year many companies release California compliant parts and firearms. Below are a few I stumbled upon at SHOT Show 2020.

Not tired of California compliant product post yet? I hope not because here’s another product for those stuck behind enemy lines in the Golden State, this time it’s from B&E3D LLC and it’s called the LedgeGrip. Starting in 2018 Californians have to either register their semi-auto sporting rifles as “assault rifles” or take off all the scary features that make them so deadly. The pistol grip and adjustable stock are some of those scary features criminals love so much.

If you’re not already tired of another California compliant AR-15 part post here’s another one coming down the pipeline from Hogue. They’re putting together their own fixed mag conversion kit to help Californians make their ARs California compliant. They’re calling their kit the Freedom Fighter Fixed Magazine Conversion Kit. Kinda funny that you’d use a kit called the “Freedom Fighter” for a rifle you’re making compliant to California’s laws.

Another company has come up with a solution for AR-15 owners in California, no it’s not move to a free state. Although that would probably be the better option. For those stuck in the Golden State this might be a decent option for you. Bear Flag Defense recently debuted their BF-10 AR-15 loader for CA compliant ARs with a fixed magazine. Instead of having to unpin your AR upper every time you want to reload, you load via the ejection port with the BF-10. Similar in concept to the Mean Arms loader we posted a while back. There’s also the Towle Fixed Mag System which requires you to break open the action but is still a faster process than loading each round individually.

I promise we are almost done with the epic flood of new Strike Industries parts with the new Megafin Featureless Grip. I mean we love Strike parts just as much as the next guy, but do they really need to be so darned motivated with all these new parts? I guess they do, that is what makes them who they are after all.

California is a pretty big market for gun companies, but the state of California is making it harder for their citizens to own firearms. New laws have passed recently targeting AR-15 and AK-47 variants which will require Californians to either register their rifles as “assault rifles” or force them to change out the scary assault rifle features, one of them being the pistol grip. Thank Odin there are companies stepping up to help those in California, one of them is AK H.A.M.M.R. who just released their Battle Fin for AK rifles. AK H.A.M.M.R. also makes a handy bullet button tool for AKs.
