SILENCER SATURDAY #196: Coffin Mags and Ported Barrels – The B&T KH9SD
Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to another edition of TFB’s Silencer Saturday brought to you by our friends at Yankee Hill Machine, manufacturers of the new YHM Phantom 22. Last week we dug into the Dead Air Primal on the Henry Model X in .45-70. This week, we head to Rusty’s neck of the woods to take a look at the B&T KH9SD equipped with their new RBS-9 Reduced Backpressure Silencer. Let’s dive deeper into B&T’s silent update to their awesome KH9 SMG.
[SHOT 2018] Franklin Armory New Binary Triggers and 6.5 Creedmore
At the Shot Show Range Day, Franklin Armory had their latest toys out to play. Yes the new Reformation was there but that information will be coming soon in a different article. Let’s focus on the other products they brought out.
Dakota Tactical: First Wave Of B&T USWA1 Pistols Hits U.S. Shores
B&T continues to introduce their products to America, although, unfortunately, slower than most of us would like due to ATF approval processes. As I anxiously await the VP9 (not that one) to be granted access, another one of the Swiss pistols is finally available. Joe Stoppiello, owner/operator of Dakota Tactical, was nice enough to take some pictures of the newest addition to the B&T lineup to enter the U.S. market: the USWA1. Imported via B&T USA in Tampa, FL as a pistol, owners following the ATF Form 1 process will be able to give life to its true SBR state.
POTD: B&T TP9
The TP9 is rather infamous in Hollywood. I see it pop up quite often in TV shows and movies as a bad guy gun. It was originally designed by Steyr in the late 80s as the TMP but the design was sold to B&T in 2001 and turned into the MP9. The TP9 is the civilian version. It looks like a European version of a Mac 11. I can’t imagine shooting this like a handgun would be very effective. However with a vertical grip and stock, as it was intended, would be much more stable and usable. The photo is by @atlanticfirearms.
Switzerland Adopts B&T MP9-N As Machinenpistole 14
According to IHS Jane’s, the Swiss Armed Forces have adopted the B&T MP9-N as a personal defense weapon (PDW) for its echelon troops:
Brgger & Thomet APC 556/300 Coming in 2015
I’ve kept my eyes open for literature regarding the new Brügger & Thomet carbine family, since I managed to miss their booth at the 2015 SHOT Show. Fortunately, Defense Review covered the rifle at the show, which appears to be essentially similar in operation to the AR-180 and G36 (I haven’t seen any pictures of the bolt yet, but I suspect it’s a Johnson-type multilug design):
