TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #120: The Iraqi Police At Lynx Brutality 2024 w/ Bloke On The Range
Today we’ve brought back Mike aka Bloke On The Range to talk to us about his experiences at Lynx Brutality 2024. As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of these types of firearm competitions and so over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be hearing from several of the competitors who attended this year’s match to get their unique perspectives on this unique competition. Mike as you guys know used to present quite often on TFBTV and typically covers more historical firearms pieces on his own channel. As such, just like at last year’s Finnish Brutality 2023, Mike is bringing the heat in the form of a fresh new historical “LARP” – this time as an Iraqi National Policeman. Please welcome Mike Burns back to the Show!
TTAG YouTube Channel Receives Unexplained "Community Strike"
For those of you who aren’t up to speed on the present state of YouTube: Subsequent to the Las Vegas shooting in October 2017, YouTube began semi-arbitrarily enforcing certain unwritten content guidelines relative to bumpstocks and other gun-related content that YouTube deemed to be “offensive”. I expressly use the term “offensive” because, at the time, there were no specific, firearm-related community/content guidelines in place at YouTube. Instead, content was policed under a general, nonspecific “offensive content” guideline, so there was very little in the way of actual guidance for gun channels on YouTube.
Bloke on the Range gets TERMINATED… Then Reinstated?
Working with firearms channels on Youtube has constantly been a struggle to us at TFB with our Youtube subsidiary TFB TV, to the point where we have joked about it and been awestruck by such attempts by other channels to put their content on Pornhub. But when I first took a look at Bloke on the Range’s channel and was flabbergasted to see the words “Account Terminated”, I instantly sent the channel owner a private message over WhatsApp. Unfortunately, this was not a joke and it was also his first time seeing the channel down as well. This is perhaps one of the worst moments a Youtube content creator can go through.
A Rifle Range Over a Highway? Only in Switzerland
Ranges in the United States tend to be as far away from a highway as practical, but for those in Switzerland, its perfectly acceptable to build a range that fires over a highway. The Brunnlisau range in Switzerland is a 300 meter rifle range built over a main road leading up the Simmental.
