SIG Sauer has two new ranges of binoculars in its optic line, the Zulu8 HDX and Zulu10 HDX. These new models feature HDX glass and locking diopter rings. Let’s see what other features the new Zulu-series binocular models bring to the table.

Welcome to Friday Night Lights where I showcase and review night vision and thermal-related items. I suspect the featured image of today’s article may have intrigued you to check out these old night vision binoculars. The Fero D-51 is a German-made night vision binocular that was used in the 80s and in some famous films. I got my hands on one and it is cooler than I expected.

SHOT Show 2023 is just around the corner and companies are unveiling their newest products. Adam Barker of ABNV sent in his latest night vision housing. This is a first for ABNV, they have made an articulating binocular housing. It is dubbed the Articulating Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle (ARNVG). Let’s take a look at their entry into the articulating bino market.

The Maven Outdoor Equipment Company just launched two new binoculars to complement their B Series of binocs, both with a couple different magnification options within each new offering. The first of the new introductions, the B1.2 is actually an updated version of Maven’s B.1 binoculars and is available in 8x42mm, or 10x42mm. Maven explained that the new B1.2 uses upgraded materials and features, as well as weighing in less than the original B.1. The second new Maven B Series binocular is the B.6, which is offered in 10x50mm, and 12x50mm. The B.6 was made to fill the gap between the 42mm and 56mm objective lenses. Maven’s full press release can be read below.

My current binoculars are 8 power, and sometimes that is less magnification than I wish I had. The Vortex Viper HD Ranging Reticle Eyepiece  is one option, but typically it is too much to carry such a system around. The new Vortex Diamondback HD 15×56 binoculars come with a powerful 15x magnification, and with what Vortex call High Definition Optical System. Typically these represent the high-end lenses.

TRACT Optics has introduced a new generation of 10×42 binoculars to its award-winning TORIC product line. This enhanced offering features superior image quality and precision components that give hunters and outdoor enthusiasts a world-class 10×42 binocular. The TORIC Binocular ($694.00) is initially available in 10×42 with an upgraded 8×42 model coming in fall 2018.

Lucid Optics announced the company would soon be offering a new binocular. According to the company, it sought to make a set of high quality binocular that is light in weight and not abusive to the wallet. The result is the 10×40 B-10.

Meopta has big plan for the US market. That was what I have been told during my meeting with them at SHOT 2015. Meopta makes their optics in both their smaller US factory in the New York State and their main facility in the Czech Republic.

The Terra series of binoculars and rifle scopes is Zeiss’ recent entry into the mid-range optic market segment. Traditionally, Zeiss produces mostly high-end optics. The Terra line was created to expand Zeiss’ market share by offering affordable Zeiss products to the masses.
