Last year Maxim Defense attended Big 3 East with a selection of HK416s and MDXs. SHOT Show 2019 was extremely frenzied with their unveiling of their 5.5″ PDX. Well, Maxim Defense showed up at this year’s Big 3 East and we got to get a closer look at the PDX along with their new SCW Brace for the PDX line.

Almost a year ago, Connecticut FFL The Freedom Shoppe got hung up on making firearms with folding braces. Read all about it here. Due to this issue I learned that Connecticut allows for a sort of loophole firearm. It doesn’t have a stock so it can’t be a rifle. And it has a vertical grip with a barrel longer than 12″ so it can’t be a pistol. So it will be classified as “Other Firearm”. Well did you know Troy is the first to make a factory Troy firearm just for this classification?

Does your SUV need a lift? Well USA Chemical Supply has the solution for you. USA Chemical Supply is a manufacturer of binary explosive targets. They have been a regular at Big 3 East for a couple years now. In the past Big 3 East would usually have a car and have a mad minute where everyone opens fire on it. The car would have several 1-5 lbs bags of binary explosive strategically placed on and inside it. This year they brought a lot of binary explosive and for the explosive grand finale of Big 3 East, they set up seven large boxes of binary explosive. The first five boxes were just stand alone 50lbs boxes of binary explosive. The last two were 75 lbs boxes one for the camper and one of the SUV carcass. They were smart to not put the binary inside the SUV but in front of it. Watch what 75 lbs of binary explosive can do to an SUV.

Mid-Evil Industries came out to Big 3 East. They showed off their flag ship product, the 360º rotating foregrip. aka 360RFG. It comes in three variations: Picatinny, MLOK, and Keymod.

Tactical Walls has been a regular at Big 3 East and this year they showed off their latest in concealed storage.

You may know of Maxim Defense and their PDW stocks/braces. Well they are getting into the PCC bandwagon. Maxim Defense joined up with Tresna. Jose Jaureguizar of Tresna is now working for Maxim Defense. The Universal BCG is his brainchild.

Scott of RS Regulate has been working closely with IWI to develop an upgraded handguard for the Galil. The handguard is machined aluminum. It has three supports along the top to prevent crushing the U shaped handguard. The scalloped indentations allow for positive thumb control and the fence allows heat to dissipate while protecting you from touching the gas tube. There are QD sling mounts at the ends of the handguard. The handguards will be available in keymod and MLOK. They will be avalable in 10″ and 14″ lengths. He will make a shorter version for the Galil pistols. The 10″ handguard weighs a mere 6.5oz. It will cost about $225 MSRP but will probably be under $200.

Falkor Defense, the designers and makers of the Optimus Folding Carbine Stock ( which should be shipping this week) have taken their Petra weapon platform, which was made in .300 Win Mag and now chambered it in .300 Norma.

Wolf Performance Ammunition is bringing in Type 91 uppers and completing them with US made barrels. The Type 91 is the standard issue service rifle for the Taiwanese Army. It is gas piston operated but lacks a forward assist and brass deflector.

Glock attended the Big 3 East event last week just two days prior to Hurricane Matthew’s arrival and land fall. They brought an assortment of Glocks with them.

Rafael of Eagle Imports brought a plethora of pistols to Big 3 East. I will be honest, I did not think much of Bersa until I got to see them first hand. I relegated Bersa handguns to something just higher than Hi-Point and Kel-Tec pistols. Inexpensive and they work but nothing stellar to get me excited. How wrong I was.
