#Benchmade

Announced earlier this year at SHOT Show 2022, Benchmade’s new 430BK Redoubt full-size knives are finally on sale and shipping to customers and distributors. Intended primarily as an outdoor/survival knife, the full-size folding blades feature CMP-D2 (60-62 HRC) blade steel and a durable steel handle. Benchmade also markets this knife as a good option for self-defense.

The traditional SOCP dagger ( Special Operations Combatives Program) from Benchmade should be fairly well known by this time. In 2017 we did a Photo Of The Day with it. In short, it’s a basic skeletonized dagger with a ring on the top of the handle, with the intention to allow the use with either hand and also when you’re using a firearm at the same time. There is now also a smaller version called the 173 Mini SOCP Dagger, and TFB has taken some time to evaluate it for this review.

Earlier, TFB’s Editor In Chief Pete had a look at The Best Budget Blades: EDC Knives For Gun Carriers. There were a lot of comments and feedback which encouraged us to continue with similar articles.

The ever lasting question about which trigger is the best just got even more complex.

I’m happy to say this is the first TFB Review in 2019 – I am sure there will be many more during the year.

I don’t think Hornady manufactures the Zombie Max any longer, but I have some stock of various calibers.

Before we get into the Benchmade contest detailed below, we wanted to open up a dialog about the possibility of having more dedicated knife reviews at TFB. Along with watches, knives and guns always seem to run in the same circles. Whether it’s an Everyday Carry setup, survival gear or just another tool for your proverbial (or actual) tool box, quality guns and quality knives go hand in hand.

During September 2017 there is a large Military exercise in Sweden called Aurora 17.

Designed by Greg Thompson and Made in the USA by Benchmade. This is not a knife I would normally buy, but I did. Rather surprised, I liked it so much I bought another. Took a few photos of them and here’s the result.

The AXIS Striker family of folding knives has been a successful line for Benchmade. The knives are made in a wide range of blade styles and opening types. Now the company is offering a limited edition version of the knife that kicks things up to the next level.
