Before we talk about SMAR-100BPM in detail, we need to understand the circumstances that led to the creation of the modern Belarussian small arms industry.

Belarusian YouTube channel called “ ВоенТВ Беларуси” has recently published a video telling about the Belarusian military news. In that video, they showed an unmanned aerial vehicle carrying an anti-tank grenade launcher. The demonstration of this rather unusual UAV was conducted in Losvida proving ground located in Vitebsk Region, Belarus. The mentioned video is embedded below and it starts from the point where it shows the UAV.

In one of the Russian social media pages dedicated to firearms, I found a picture of two pistols being in development in Russia. These handguns are designed by an unknown arms designer whose nickname is “Kochevnik”.

Victor Aster is a Belarusian firearms concept designer. He shared with TFB one of his CAD designs of a personal defense weapon (PDW) called Humble-Bee. The idea is to have a compact firearm for law enforcement and military needs which would be very simple, lightweight and easy to use.

The Belarusian Historical and Cultural Complex “Stalin Line” has published a video telling about current small arms of Belarusian special forces. None of them is an unknown firearm, yet it is still interesting to see what combination of guns and accessories they use. According to news website Tut.by, a Belarusian company called BSVT has developed a new handheld grenade launcher. It is based on Russian Baryshev experimental grenade launcher and features some improvements over the latter. Particularly, the use of polymer and titanium parts allowed the designers to decrease the overall weight by 20%, down to 8 kilograms (about 17.5 lbs). The launcher will probably be adopted by the Belarusian special forces units.
