A great many shooters who are adults today shared the same dream as kids in the 1980s and 1990s. Centrifugal projectile weapons have a long history dating back to the humble sling. The late 19th and 20th centuries saw a number of attempts to create an automatic weapon capable of projecting a string of projectiles without the need for cartridges containing propellant powder. The most recent, high profile, venture into the realm of centrifugal guns came in the 1990s with the DREAD system. The DREAD claimed to be capable of firing 120,000 rounds a minute with just 150 Watts of power.

SIG Sauer continue to expand their SIG AIR ProForce line of airsoft guns based on their popular real counterparts. The newest addition to the ProForce line up is a battery-powered, automatic electric gun (or AEG) version of the MCX Virtus.

The classic Daisy Red Ryder lever action BB gun was introduced back in 1938 and has been enjoyed by generations of Americans. Now Daisy Outdoor Products have introduced a limited edition scaled up adult (or bigger kid) sized Red Ryder.

Expanding the line of its air pistols, SIG Sauer has released the airgun replica of P226 X-Five competition pistol. The new air pistol is called X-Five ASP (Advanced Sport Pellet). With the steel slide and frame, blowback action and similar weight, the SIG X-Five ASP replicates the feel of its real counterpart.

Air Venturi has announced the release of the world’s first frangible BBs. The new .177 cal (4.5mm) BBs are called Dust Devil. Just like other frangible projectiles, Dust Devil BBs shatter upon impact on hard surfaces and minimize the possibility of ricochet which steel BBs are well known for. The new BBs are also lead-free. Both features combined make them much safer for use in indoor shooting.

The National Crime Agency in United Kingdom just made huge news as they arrested eight people and seized 79 illegal firearms hidden in engine blocks.

SIG SAUER announced a 1911 style BB pistol that is modeled after the 1911 Max handgun used by Max Michel Jr. Michel is the captain of the company’s competition team: Team SIG. Michel is also a World Speed Shooting Champion and served in the US Army as part of the Army Marksmanship Unit.
