Blackhawk! has several new bags with incredibly useful features for 2018. Features include laser cut MOLLE attachment, movable dividers, and a port to access the bottom of the bag directly from outside.

Maxpedition is one of the better companies in the outdoor market for building bags and related gear. The company recently introduced several new bags that have a CCW application. One of the more interesting to me is the Solstice CCW Camera Bag.

Well I found it that it is made by Martinson Industries. It is called the Emergency Life Saving Armor aka ELSA. It retails for $199 on their website and comes only in black. To some hunting season is right around the corner and for others it’s year-round; whenever and wherever you hunt, this new bag might interest you. This is more than just a bag for toting stuff around, though. It’s the ScentPURGE BigMOUTH Bag, and if it delivers as promised it would be a welcome addition to my own must-have hunting gear.

I saw this video on Facebook. TrustBag is made of a slash proof material. But the intro to the video is what caught my attention. They shoot at the bag with a handgun. However the lack of recoil and then the overly exaggerated recoil caused me to laugh then question the validity of this video. Could they be using blanks? Or perhaps .22LR? There appears to be muzzle flash and brass ejected when the handgun fires. Later in the video they try and cut the black strap with a knife, but they don’t seem to be really trying to cut into it. The knife seems to just slide off the strap rather than trying to cut the strap. Also they did not try and pierce the bag with a sharp knife.

If you’re not familiar with the story behind the founding of Blackhawk, you’re missing out on a key component of the company’s drive and dedication to quality and superior performance. A Navy SEAL started the company after an experience where his ruck broke and crashed to the ground right as he was navigating a mine field; he swore he’d make sure gear was properly created if he survived, and when he did, indeed, survive, he started Blackhawk.

There are range “bags” that are designed to hold gear and then there are “range bags” that beg to be hauled and mauled. The 5.11 Range Ready Bag is the latter, now having stood up to my grueling usage for over six months with nary an issue. So what makes it so good?
