Tru-Spec is known for making clothing, but the company also makes other gear such as backpacks. One of the company’s newest products is the Stealth XL backpack.

Vorn Equipment has an interesting quick release for their rifle backpacks.

Operation Solutions International is a company in the United States that is bringing in an interesting take on magazine carriers with a single point of entry and insert. The working concept has been around for a year or more, but with  OSI’s involvement in bringing the product to the United States has just now begun. Currently the company could only show the Gen One version in time for SHOT, as the Gen Two couldn’t make it in time for the show.

It is great to see more historically “tactical” companies embracing “covert” style gear. Hopefully the day of the MOLLE clad contractor, with cargo tactical pants, ball caps with cool guy patches, and backpacks that scream “I’m going to war, or maybe have lunch at a park in downtown Somalia” look is nearing it’s end… (Yeah, right, who am I kidding).

Midway USA added two new options to its own line of tactical backpacks. The new Alpha and Delta join the company’s existing Bravo to offer a range of gear carrying options.

The US Army has been developing the IRONMAN backpack to increase the immediately available ammunition for crew-served weapons. The entire system enables the automatic weapons carrier to deploy suppressing and superior fire for an extended period compared to current 100 and 200 round belts. In short, it takes a crew-served weapon and turns it into a single soldier deployable system for short missions.

When I initially covered BulletSafe’s children’s backpack panel, I wasn’t sure if I thought it was a good idea. TFB readers had mixed emotions as well. I had an opportunity to test a panel and filmed the results.

There are many people who wish a product like this did not need to exist, but then there are those who want options. It’s a little strange to me that this company is only trying to raise $1,500 since many companies need much more startup capital. But if that’s what he needs to make it work, then good for him.

Blue Force Gear collaborated with Chris Costa to design a tactical satchel for carrying submachine guns or PDW-style short barreled rifles that looked as little tactical as possible. The result was the Hive Satchel with its very “un-tactical” semi-circular shape and without any obvious tactical features or colors.
