POTD: Suppressed AS Val in India
Welcome back for another run of our Photo Of The Day. We’re always on the lookout for the best firearms-related images out there, with the goal to give your eyes something worth watching every day. Today we have a suppressed AS Val and some other photos from the Indra 2018 exercise between India and Russia. The sight on the AS Val seems to be mounted extremely high.
Small Arms of the War In Ukraine
It’s now three weeks since Vladimir Putin’s Russia invaded Ukraine. We have seen the Ukrainian Armed Forces put up an impressive fight while Russia’s forces have stalled since their initial attempts at a lightning advance failed. While images of burnt-out or abandoned Russian armoured vehicles have dominated the news and social media there have been some interesting small arms seen. Everything from the newest Ukrainian AR-15s to Russia-backed separatists with Mosin-Nagants.
Molot Arms SAPSAN – 9mm PCC Based on AS Val / VSS Vintorez
Russian Molot Arms has been exploring the civilian adaptation possibilities of the VSS Vintorez and AS Val for quite a long time and they in fact now offer civilian versions of these guns on the Russian market. Apparently, the company keeps on experimenting with the design of these iconic Russian firearms as they recently introduced a 9mm PCC based on the overall design of Vitorez and AS Val. The new PCC is called Sapsan (Сапсан, means peregrine falcon).
POTD: Large-Scale Russian Exercise
Russian Photo Of The Day, from an event where more than 1,000 soldiers from about 100 different military and special units were involved. Firearms like the AS “Val” and VSS “Vintorez” in 9x39mm as well as the KSVK 12.7 large-caliber sniper rifle were involved in the event.

Three Special Firearms Designed by Pyotr Serdyukov – Creator of VSS Vintorez and AS VAL
In this article we’ll take a look at three unusual and less-known firearms design by Pyotr Serdyukov, the designer of the SR-1 “Gyurza” pistol, VSS “Vintorez” and AS VAL suppressed rifles. Just like the more famous ones created by Serdyukov, the guns discussed in this article were made for the special forces.

The Firearms of 2017 Moscow Victory Day Parade
The Victory Day Parade is a military parade annually held in Red Square of Moscow in celebration of victory in the Second World War. The parade takes place on 9th of May, which is the day when Nazi Germany signed the instrument of surrender in 1945. Let’s take a look what firearms were spotted during the parade.
