TFB Review: Dead Foot Arms AR-MP9 MP5-Styled Upper
Last SHOT Show 2023, I came across Dead Foot Arms and saw their AR-MP9s in person. As one of the resident MP5 fans, I was intrigued. Sure it is not a roller-delayed blowback but the aesthetics are what caught my attention. Since it was designed for the AR-9 platform, the possibilities were endless so I requested to review their upper and they were kind enough to lend one to me. Let’s take a closer look at their MP5-styled AR-MP9 upper.

KE Arms Announces Glock Mag-Fed KP-9 Polymer Receiver
Phoenix-based manufacturer KE Arms makes a variety of firearms-related products, from small parts up to complete firearms. Their most recent claim to fame has been the release of their new KP-15 monolithic polymer AR lower. This receiver was intended to be significantly more durable than other manufacturers’ prior attempts at polymer AR receivers, as durability has been a widely-reported issue or concern for some shooters with non-metallic ARs in the past. TFB has covered a broad spectrum of this manufacturer’s offerings over the years, and a selection of some of those past articles is listed for you below.

Palmetto State Armory recently released a 9mm AR-15 pistol that accepts the popular CZ Scorpion EVO 3 magazines. The new AR-V is similarly named after Palmetto State Armory’s AK-V Kalashnikov 9mm pistol, which also shares the same magazine pattern and 9mm caliber. The AR-V is currently available as a complete pistol, with either an 8 inch or 10.5 inch barrel, or as a parts kit which includes the upper and lower receivers, bolt, and magazine. PSA describes their new offering below:

[SHOT 2020] Safety Harbor – Grand Power Stribog Glock Magazine AR Lower
Well, that title is a little gibberish-y, but I promise it’s completely accurate. At SHOT 2020 today Safety Harbor is showing off its newest product, an AR lower designed specifically to work with both the Grand Power Stribog upper and Glock magazines at the same time. It is almost, but not quite, an AR-9 lower that’s been modified for the Stribog. As I’m sure you are all aware, the first question anyone asks about any new gun that takes a pistol caliber cartridge is whether or not it takes Glock magazines. Well, now the Stribog does indeed take Glock magazines. As long as you’re willing to buy the Safety Harbor lower for it.
Frankly, Pistol Caliber Carbines Don't Make a Lot of Sense – Here's Why
I know that I am not going to make any friends by writing this, but that never stopped me before, so why not? Here goes: Pistol caliber carbines don’t make a whole lot of sense for the American rifle buyer, or at least not most of the offerings on the market right now.
