James Reeves is at the Angstadt Arms booth to discuss the Angstadt Vanquish with its creator, Rich Angstadt. The Vanquish is an SD-type AR-9 that accepts Glock mags (of course) and features in integrally suppressed upper that uses a ported barrel and no baffles. We at TFB have been excited about the MDP-9 ever since Angstadt Arms set the hype train rolling with a promo video promising a new pistol calibre carbine. That gun, the MDP-9, was officially announced just before SHOT Show so it was great to get hands on with the gun and put a few rounds through it.

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Angstadt Arms have teased the unveiling of their new ‘subgun’, with a video featuring their previous pistol calibre carbine, the UDP-9. Angstadt have released a teaser trailer for the new MDP-9 but we don’t get a look at the new weapon, only hints.

The US Army has expanded its upcoming Sub Compact Weapon evaluations adding three more weapons to the trials. Back in May PEO Soldier – Project Manager Soldier Weapons issued a Request for Information to industry for a Compact, concealable 9x19mm submachine gun. Following this the US Army’s Contracting Command posted a notice on FedBizOps awarding 10 sole source contracts on 8 June.
