New Raw Materials Warehouse Underway by Federal Ammunition

Federal Ammunition is one step closer to further expanding its ammunition output with the recent groundbreaking ceremony of its new Raw Materials Warehouse being built in Coon Rapids, MN. The new raw materials storage facility will supposedly help reduce wait times for raw materials to make their way from distributors and into the production facilities located in Anoka County, Minnesota. This new facility will add to the already near-1-million sq/ft footprint that Federal’s ammunition manufacturing facilities currently sit on.

Gun Sales On the Rise – Can Ammunition Keep Up?

According to a recent piece of news from CBS Miami, the nation has seen a 31% increase in firearms purchases in the first four months of the year when compared to 2020. According to FBI statistics, nearly 16 million background checks for firearms purchases were accomplished between January and April. Every gun store I’ve heard from has seen record sales and despite the ammo shortages, each range has maintained a more or less steady stream of customers throughout the last year. I wonder, however, if all of these gun sales will continue to outpace the ammunition industry or if we will start to see boxes of ammo show up on the shelves.

True Velocity Unveils Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities With Potential to Reinvent Ammunition Supply Chain

Following a discussion by the US House Armed Services Committee about the ‘Modernization of the Conventional Ammunition Production Industrial Base’ on 22nd September True Velocity released a statement explaining how their technology and processes can be leveraged to update ammunition manufacturing. During the hearing, General Edward M. Daly, Commanding General, Army Materiel Command explained that the Army is looking to reduce single points of failure within their current system and reduce reliance on external/foreign material sources.
