US-Made FORGED AKs Coming SOON from Kalashnikov USA
The sanctions on Russian companies have hit the American AK enthusiast hard – no longer can we import inexpensive Izhevsk Kalashnikovs to feed the beast. Yet, there is a silver lining: Domestic AK production is on the rise to meet the demand, and one company in particular is staking its name – the biggest name in the business – on American-made AKs done right. That name being, of course, Kalashnikov USA.
[SHOT 2018] Archon Firearms "Extremely Low Bore Axis" Pistol – the Type B
Archon Firearms, formerly known as Arsenal Firearms USA, showed off to the public their Type B pistol, also formerly known as the Stryk B pistol, at SHOT Show’s Industry Day at the Range. To avoid a potential trademark dispute which would have delayed the introduction of this pistol even longer, Archon Firearms decided to re-brand themselves and the pistol.
Ruger Unveils NEW Hawkeye Long Range Target & More Rifles for 2018
Ruger, like many firearm companies right now, is gearing up for the most wonderful time of the year in the gun industry: SHOT Show! With that extravaganza of firearms looming in front of us, they have been introducing and announcing lots and lots of new models for 2018. More 7.62×39 Bolt Actions? Ruger American Ranch Rifle (Yes, Please!)
While the 7.62×39 Russian round enjoys a reputation as a fantastic overall cartridge, it has sadly been largely relegated to generally inaccurate platforms. Now, before the fanboys get all over me, yes, the AK can be accurate – its just harder to get one than say an AR or bolt-action. Fortunately, that is changing. With the success of the Howa mini-action, it seems that Ruger cannot let the offshore-made rifle have its way with the bolt-action market.
WWII Training Video – German vs. American Machine Guns
Right feared for its prodigious rate of fire, the MG-42 was nicknamed “Hitler’s Buzzsaw”. The US Army quickly learned that troops often hesitated when encountering the weapon, with its fearsome reputation and rate of fire overriding the common sense that it was indeed, just a machine gun and shooting that fast goes through a ton of ammo.
Savage Arms Introduces New "Fox A Grade" Shotguns
Savage Arms now offers A Grade versions of the once famous high-end Fox shotguns. Savage makes these shotguns in 12 or 20 gauge. Both caliber options also come with either 26″ or 28″ barrels and only with side by side layout of the barrels.
The New Ruger American Rimfire Target
A few months ago, Ruger announced that they were discontinuing the 77/22, 77/357 and 77/44 line of bolt action rifles, leaving me a bit disheartened. My spirits have been buoyed a bit with the introduction of a present model upgrade. The Newport New Hampshire-based gunmaker just announced the newest version of the American Rimfire rifle – the Target.
Ruger Completes the American Pistol Line-Up with a 9mm Compact
We all knew at some point Ruger would introduce their American in a smaller and more concealable package. Today is officially that day! The Ruger American Compact has been introduced and is available in two different configurations: Manual Safety model and Pro (no manual safety) model.
Find "Safety" in the Newest RUGER American Model
The Ruger American pistol is fully positioned to be the focus of Ruger’s center-fire handgun offerings. Its introduction made it an immediate, direct competitor to the M&P, Glock, and Springfield series of pistols. One feature everyone noticed it was lacking (for better or worse, depending on your personal opinion) was a manual safety. Well, Ruger has responded to the people! To better serve law enforcement needs and consumer demands, they now offer a Manual Safety Version of the Ruger American.
BREAKING: Ruger To Release New Polymer-Framed Striker-Fired "Ruger American" Pistol In 9mm and .45 ACP
Sturm, Ruger & Co. appears to be set to release a brand new handgun for SHOT Show 2016. An FFL on Facebook apparently received the new gun ahead of Ruger’s announcement, most likely scheduled for the NSSF Shot Show. The Gun Show Podcast blogged the photos through the site:
The Dawn of Short: Early Bullpup Firearms
Maxim Popenker, Russian small arms expert and author (and TFB contributor), has begun a three-part series of articles on the origins of the bullpup concept, one which many now believe represents the future of individual small arms:
