I had a chance to play with the prototype of this gadget at SHOT Show 2019 and was really impressed with its simplicity and functionality. And it’s great to learn that it is now available for purchase. The Strike Industries AMBI Mag Release is exactly what its name implies – an ambidextrous magazine release. It is a drop-in part designed for AR-15 pattern rifles that use mil-spec magazine catch mechanism.

Our partnership with Strike Industries was an amazing experience from the very beginning of SHOT Show 2019. We hosted them at our range day booth and they brought one of those high-speed low drag Phantom cameras. Anyone at the range could walk into our booth, shoot a gun, have it filmed in slow motion and then receive his video at Strike Industries booth at the exhibition. This author didn’t miss that chance, too.

Battleline Industries has a small kiosk just outside the press room here at SHOT Show 2016. Their “Ambidextrous Glock Magazine Release” caught my attention. The magazine catch/release is a simple drop in upgrade for Gen3 Glock 17/22, 19/23. In fact they claim that it is easier to install than a standard mag catch as you do not need to bother moving the spring out of the way, This will slide right behind the spring. No price as of yet but they are shooting for late 1st quarter or beginning of 2nd quarter this year.
