Alchemy Custom Weaponry is a custom handgun maker that a few years ago was acquired by Cabot Guns. While both divisions focus on offering high-quality, very well-detailed firearms, ACW tends to be the more practically minded workshop, with models designed to show off in use, not in a case. The RestoMod product line definitely falls in this category, merging nostalgic style with modern features.

Alchemy Custom Weaponry, known for its attention to detail and high-end, custom-built firearms, has unveiled its new Quantico Carry 1911 models, available in both 9mm and .45 ACP variants. Continuing to build upon their legacy of high-performance weaponry, the Quantico Carry guns give buyers the opportunity to specify many features, allowing for a custom, hand-fit finish.

Alchemy Custom Weaponry, a division of Cabot Guns, have released the shorter Commander-length version of their Quantico HiCap 2011-style 9mm pistol. Other than the slide and barrel length (4.25″ vs 5″), the Quantico HiCap Carry is identical to its full-size sibling. Let’s take a closer look.

Alchemy Custom Weaponry has introduced a new series of custom 1911 pistols dubbed Quantico. This family of pistols currently includes two models – Quantico and Quantico HiCap. The main difference between the two is that Quantico is a single stack .45 ACP gun whereas the Quantico HiCap is a double-stack 9mm pistol. Ah, the SHOT Show lower level dungeon.  It can be a place of darkness and despair, filled with the noxious fumes of B.O. and burnt food court fare.  In this maelstrom, however are hidden gems.  Gleaming like a beacon through this gloom was the display of Cabot Guns and Alchemy Custom Weaponry.  Made with such materials as fossilized mammoth tusk, tyrannosaurus rex bones, and the occasional meteorite and with prices starting in the $2000’s and up to “if you have to ask…”, I view these less as firearms and more as art pieces you can shoot.
