Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to polymer pistol lovers everywhere. Back in August, TFB’s own Nathaniel F. penned a post about Smith & Wesson trademarking ‘M2.0’ for use in an upcoming product release. And from the looks of a silent Academy announcement by way of a plain old vanilla new pistol listing, rumors of an upgrade to the S&W M&P pistol line appear to be correct.

Academy is in the news again after their knee jerk reaction to remove all modern sporting rifles from their shelves following the shooting in Orlando. Shortly after, Daniel Defense one of Academy’s suppliers learned about the sporting good giant hiding the rifles from shopper’s views they placed Academy on a do-not-sell list.

Soldier Systems has obtained a report that Daniel Defense has terminated their agreement to sell their products to Academy Sports. Recently we broke the story that Academy had removed all modern sporting rifles from their display racks in response to the attack at the Orlando LGBT bar Pulse, as a result of Academy’s decision to remove the rifles Daniel Defense has issued the following letter to their distributes.
