Michigan-based Next Level Armament have announced the introduction of their 6ARC Phoenix Rifle. The new rifle has Helix 6 Precision Carbon Fiber barrels and is available in 16”, 18”, and 20” barrel lengths, all with a 1-7 twist rate.  The 6ARC chambering joins their range which also includes .308, .450 Bushmaster, 5.56×45, 450 Legend, and 9mm. MSRP on the new rifle starts at $3,039.

The list of products supporting Hornady’s new 6mm ARC cartridge keeps growing. CMC Triggers has announced the addition of a new iteration of their Enhanced AR-15 bolt carrier group featuring a bolt compatible with this new cartridge. The new CMC Enhanced BCG is also suppressor optimized. Let’s see what other features CMC has incorporated into this BCG’s design.

The wave of 6mm ARC chambered platforms continues to grow after the launch of the new round. CMMG are the latest to announce that not one but two of their rifles will be available in the new 6ARC round.

Earlier this week we reported that Hornady have introduced a brand new round, the 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge or 6mm ARC. Barrett, Hornady and OSS have now confirmed that they have partnered to provide the US Department of Defense with a new rifle chambered in 6mm ARC.

With the recent announcement of Hornady’s new 6ARC Round, it’s no surprise that other reputable manufacturers are now unveiling their offerings for the new caliber. San Tan Tactical (STT) in collaboration with Hornady and Proof Research is now offering the STT-15-6ARC Rifle in the new 6ARC Caliber.

Hornady Manufacturing, widely regarded as one of the top ammo companies in the industry, has made quite a splash with their June 3, 2020 announcement. TFB recently hinted at a new SAAMI accepted cartridge, and now it’s here. Meet Hornady’s newest player: the 6mm ARC, or Advanced Rifle Cartridge. Purpose-built to optimize the capabilities of AR-platform firearms, the basic idea behind this new caliber is an attempt to find the sweet spot between the smaller traditional 5.56 NATO/.223 Rem, which is sometimes criticized for being perhaps a bit anemic, and larger calibers like .308 Win, which can raise issues such as increased weight and felt recoil with decreased mag capacity. With the 6ARC, Hornady believes they have landed on that happy medium – claiming that it “does what much larger cartridges can and everything that smaller cartridges can’t”, and “delivers optimum all-range performance and barrel life”.
