Building on the legacy of the renowned SAKO TRG 22 and TRG 42 sniper rifles, the Sako TRG 62 A1 is poised to set a new standard for Extreme Long Range Shooting in the weapons industry. Armaspec is a noted producer of parts and accessories for the AR-15, AR-10, AK, and Glock platforms. This year at SHOT they were showing off their newest prototype. The Harmonics Tuner Muzzle Brake is exactly what the name suggests, a completely user-tunable muzzle brake.

Do you shoot the .408 CheyTac, .375 CheyTac, and .375 EnABELR? You probably do it for the extreme long-distance accuracy these cartridges offer. Now you can enjoy sound suppression as well as reduced dust and debris from the muzzle. Surefire has a new fast-attach suppressor for these large calibers called the SOCOM408-ELR. It’s made of titanium and available in DLC Black and Dark Earth Cerakote finishes. The weight is just 22.0 oz (623 g). 

I was invited to an event co hosted by Desert Tech and Nikon. Desert Tech finally released the MDR (and is now shipping pre-orders) and wanted to put it in front of media. In addition to the MDR, Desert Tech wanted to showcase their other platforms, the HTI and SRS, with platforms from .308 Win to .375 CheyTac. Nikon was slated to provide the optics, including some new stuff. Wait, what?!? Nikon? Precision Long Range optics?

You have to love the recent records and record attempts to shoot and hit further out, from all around the Globe. I hope this continues in 2017 an onward.

If there’s one thing it might have been nice to not witness it’s the rise of the Tactical EVERYthing in the gun industry. Don’t misunderstand me: true tactics are not only useful but can be lifesavers. Suffice to say it is not the legitimate tactical side of guns but rather the sudden surge of tacticool that’s causing eye rolls so hard I can see inside my skull. Recently a video on social media caught my attention because it featured everything we associate with the Tacticool Guy (also known as the TacTard, TacJoe, or, according to outdoor writer Richard Mann, the TacRon – a term that combines “tactical” and “moron”). This video has it all: tactical range pants, tactical beards, tactical sunglasses, tactical looking-without-seeing – you name it. If it’s tacticool, odds are the latest video from the European Security Academy (ESA) Ukraine has it.

Ashbury Precision Ordnance Manufacturing has added two new calibers to its line of premium precision tactical rifles based on their new SABER® VX bolt action receiver (an octagonal geometry precision manufactured bolt action receiver for .408 and .375 CheyTac calibers).

Matt of Hill Country Rifles sent me this video since I posted about their rifle hitting a 3,600 yard target. Here is there latest achievement, hitting a target at 3,800 yards away.
