Rossi surprised a lot of firearm owners when they announced at SHOT Show 2023 that they were back and with a vengeance (my words, not Rossi’s) by debuting new revolvers that looked reminiscent of something from Smith & Wesson and/or Dan Wesson from years past. They were gorgeous looking and by early reviewers from the interwebs and shmucks like me, they flat out perform. Now, Rossi is proud to announce that they are bringing some new lever-action rifles into their portfolio of ‘arms as well with the Rossi R95 .30-30 lever-action series.

Ruger has knocked it out of the park lately with their re-releases of classic lever-action rifles. Today they announced the reintroduction of the Marlin Model 336 Classic in .30-30 Win. With a satin blue finish, black walnut stock, and 20” barrel, this lever-action rifle is as classic as it gets. Additional details can be found below.

From the very beginning of the year, we have been covering the news of Vista Outdoor and particularly Federal Premium Ammunition. This year the company has released probably the largest amount of new products in the ammunition industry. Both of these rifles were the talk of the NRA Show because it blends modern ideas and styling without ruining the stalwart platform that is the lever-action. In this TFB Review, we are going to take a deep-dive look at the 336 Dark .30-30 Win to see if this rifle can satisfy the hearts of lever-action purists and those from a younger generation!

Marlin has introduced a NEW version of their staple Model 336 lever-action rifle with a B-Grade Curly Maple stock and Fiddle Back figuring. This new rifle is not surprisingly chambered in the stalwart .30-30 Winchester cartridge. This rifle was announced back at the NASGW (National Sporting Good Wholesalers) Show in October and it is finally shipping to retailers and distributors for sale. This new Curly Maple iteration of the 336 is specifically available in the 336C, or carbine model.
