Ruger continues their embrace of high capacity with the introduction of the Ruger Single-Ten, a version of the Ruger Single-Six with a ten round .22 LR cylinder.

The days of blowing through a case of .223 ammo ended for a lot of us some time around the last presidential campaign. Until that point, the ammunition had been relatively affordable.

Stoeger recently introduced the X20 Suppressor air rifle to the US market. The break-action rifle features an integrated suppressor which utilizes an air regulator and baffle system to keep the gun as quiet as possible.

An eight year old girl at Allamanda Elementary school in Palm Springs, Florida, gave her teacher an end-of-term present containing toiletries and a loaded .22 pistol. It is thought that the girl added the gun to the parcel without her grandmothers knowledge.

CCI has introduced a new .22 LR round designed for use in AR-15 style .22 LR rifles. The bullet is a 40 grain lube-coated copper-plated solid target bullet with a round nose designed for easy feeding in a semi-automatic.

The Rossi Circuit Judge is now available in .22 Long Rifle and .22 Magnum. The gun, which appears to be based on the new Taurus Tracker 992 revolver action, comes with both a .22 LR cylinder and a .22 Magnum cylinder.

Speer has introduced a .22 Winchester Magnum cartridge optimized for use in short barrel self-defense pistols. From a 1.9″ barrel the 40 grain bullet leaves the muzzle at 1150 fps, generating 99 ft/lbs of muzzle energy. It would likely perform better in longer barreled guns like the Kel-Tec PMR-30.

The new Tracker 992 revolver from Taurus comes with both a 9-chamber .22 LR cylinder and a 9-chamber .22 Magnum cylinder.

The Chiappa M9-22 is a .22 LR chambered pistol patterned after the Beretta M9 / Beretta 92 pistol. Two models will be offered, the Standard model and the Tactical model.

My favorite aftermarket aperture sight manufacturer, Tech Sights, has expanded their line to include the Ruger Mini-14 and Remington 597.

Winchester has added the Varmint HE 3/1 Segmenting expansion bullet to its line of .22 LR ammunition. This mean looking 37 grain hollowpoint bullet splits into four pieces upon impact. Three forward segments split off to the side, inflicting damage, and a rear core penetrates.

Winchester’s new M22 round is quite compelling. It features a 40 grain round nosed lead bullet at a high velocity of 1255 fps. The round has been designed specifically for modern semi-automatic rifles feeding from high capacity magazines (ie. .22 black rifle clones).
